Hot water pressure has dramatically increased

It's definitely the flow rate, the water seems to be at mains pressure when the hot tap is on full, before it was very slow. I am using the hot tap to restrict the flow to around what it used to be so the water heats up.

Hot water pressure has dramatically increased

For the last 12 years the pressure in the bath has been low and the water got hot. Now the flow seems to be too fast for the boiler to heat it up, the only way to get the water in the bath hot is to turn the hot tap down to a reduced flow. It just started all of a sudden yesterday

Hot water pressure has dramatically increased

Hi Our hot water has always been slow, around 20 min to run a bath. Since yesterday it is flowing at mains pressure. It is still getting hot if the taps are turned down but the boiler is not coping with them on full. It is not a problem with the kitchen tap as it is smaller, only the bath...

    Problem purlin

Thanks for looking. It's cement tiles on a 1920s semi bungalow. I was thinking of using some u-bolts to secure it

    Felt roof leak

That bitumen paint is really good for small cracks. I painted over just the crack in a corrugated roof and it has worked a treat

    Problem purlin

Hi all While in the loft I noticed a purlin has twisted away from 3 struts. It looks like it happened some time ago looking at all the dirt in the cracks. The purlin on the other two roof slopes are OK Should I panic, worry or forget about it. Thanks Jono

    Sewer venting

Hi all, I have a sewer vent pipe venting into my garage, this is the only vent in the system. Can I use a one way vent cap to stop smells entering the garage or does the air need to flow both ways. I know I should run it through the roof but a one way valve will take seconds to install...

    Draining for Adey filter

Thanks for the relpy, having measured there is not enough room between the pipe and wall to use a pipe cutter and not enough room between the pipes for a hacksaw so not sure my diy skills will be up to it. I only want a filter as a radiator got a hole in it a couple of months ago and I partially...

    EPDM Rubber Roofing

I did it myself and am not a roofer or tradesman. It was easy. I went for the standard thickness as the seller said the thicker one was more for if you were going to be walking on it often. I can't see it ever failing, it's been up for 5 years now and still looks as good as day 1. Be careful to...

    Draining for Adey filter

Hi all I am planning on fitting a magnetic filter to just below the combi boiler which is located on the kitchen wall in a bungalow. The boiler is the highest point in the system. Do I need to drain the system completely or can I just drain enough to get the pressure to 0 in the boiler display...

    Loose door frame

As in the picture there is a gap between the frame and wall. Will it be OK to fix the door in place without filling in the gap. I have a plasterer coming next month to plaster walls and repair the plaster around the door but would like the door fixed in place before he arrives. If I need to...

    Loose door frame

From where the plaster has fallen out the brickwork seems OK. Will 4 inch / 100mm fixings and nylon plugs be ok. Thanks Jono
