hi, i currently have a cooker switch linked to a white box (FCU?) which simply has a cable coming out going to an old oven. I am getting a new oven (2.8kw) a hob (6kw) and an extractor (around 150w i think). My question is - can i upgrade the cooker switch to 45A and connect all three...

    worcester bosch combi ignition problems

just a quick comment - i had a 24i junior installed a few weeks back, and although the c/h isn't hooked up yet, the hot water is patchy. you turn the tap on at a reasonable rate and it will run hot for a bit, then randomly go cold, turn the flow up a bit and maybe it goes hot again. The guy who...

    adding a socket

thanks for the replies. the flat is a bit odd, there are 2 layers of plasterboard above the floorboards, and a further layer of chipboard - don't know why, sound insulation maybe (it's an old converted house)...anyway I meant to run it around the edge of the chipboard where there is a slight gap...

seperate 2 lights to 2 seperate switches

thanks - i've checked the switch and there is one red and one black cable, so I assume they're wired in parallel/series. if this was the case, could i not use the flex going from switch to nearest light to pull through 2 more cables (through the ceiling down to the switch), then link one to...

    adding a socket

Hi. I want to add a socket to a room, on the opposite side from an existing one. The easiest way would be to run it from the existing on, under the flooring (yet to be laid) and up behind the skirting on the opposite wall. I assume there are certain issues/regulations with doing this and...

seperate 2 lights to 2 seperate switches

Hi there. I have 2 ceiling lights both controlled by the same switch, and want to control them separately. i can't think of a method that doesn't involve chasing new cables into the wall & ceiling, which i'd love to avoid! any suggestions? Thanks.
