Dot and dab would be easier overall but it's a messy job and not as accurate as fixing batons. 25mm drywalls will be fine just don't sink the heads in too far, if its a problem you can always angle the screws slightly. A bit of no nails will be fine.

I'd make him recess them in the door and pack the frame too.

If you've got 30mm then can't see the problem with dot and dabbing it.

In my personal opinion I think your bein very paranoid. Just board it up with no gaps it'll be fine.

Thanks. Sorry I probably didn't explain properly, I'll be doin the job myself so just needed a rough guide of cost and size of rsj not to do the job.

You could always try using gyproc studs- you attach brackets to the wall and level up the studs then fix through the brackets so you can go as close to the wall or further away depending on thickness of insulation.
