Advise replacing an internal kitchen door for a stud wall???

I have two doorways into my kitchen so to maximise the space I have decided to lose one internal doorway.

The kitchen has been gutted and am awaiting the plasterer to start.

He advised me that he would plaster-board over the doorway and use plenty of bonding to make strong.

Now this doesn't sound great to me as when the new kitchen is installed the over will be going in front of this along with the extractor hood and units either side attached to where the doorway was.

So is this right or am I right to be concerned, please?

It's advisable to run an extra stud in the doorway along with noggins and floorplate to give the plasterboard good support because an 800mm doorway is too wide to just be boarded.
If you have the measurements for the hood, it would be wise to fix some extra timber where the fixings/brackets need to go to ensure a solid fixing. Most wall cabinet brackets tend to go just above standard door height so the fixings for these will probably go into the existing part of the wall. Base units are usually fine with plasterboard fixings.
Don't forget to insulate in the void.

Put extra studs in and cut some ply and fix to the back of the board!
