    Hidden plywood shelves

Hi I put some plywood shelves in a cupboard and want to protect them from scratches etc. Not fussed about the finish. Is sanding sealer enough to protect the surface? Thanks, Kristian

Boiler cycling on/off, but everything checks out

I’d say the return pipe is not AS hot. Nothing in the install/test manual about burner modulation, is there another term for it? I gave the thermostat and pipe a wipe with a scourer earlier and it hasn’t cycled since. Not counting chickens just yet.

Boiler cycling on/off, but everything checks out

Hi I have a precious boiler it seems, a Baxi Solo 3 PF 30. When calling for heat or hot water it will run fine for 15 minutes, and then it starts to cycle on and off at one minute intervals until the control stops calling. If I unclip the thermostat from the pipe it will run fine without...

Two pots of same paint - different shade?

Hi Painted a couple of walls in the lounge last night, i rolled from one pot and missus did the cutting in using what was left in another pot. Got up this morning and there's a darker shade of border around the walls. Both had two coats, both pots bought same time from same store. Had we done...

6mm t&e in close proximity to each other

Hi I've run some cables through a wooden joist but quite a small hole so the cables are very close to each other at this point. Is this going to give me temperature issues when I want them connecting upto a shower, the water tank and an oven? The oven is single electric oven and came with a...

What would cause mould in this pattern?

Hi Any idea what would cause mould in this pattern? Perfect rectangular strips - the top seems to meet the damp proof course but i don't get why the straight sides and regular pattern all along the wall... edit: just the black square-looking/rectangular bits... that darker brown strip across...

Adding a speaker between isolator switch and extractor?

Humidity sensor and timer, it also has a pull cord. Sorry didn't realise there were different types, it just looks like a standard white box extractor fan. My bad.

Adding a speaker between isolator switch and extractor?

It does work but I was indulging you. We just don't use it, never have, we don't have a shower in there and don't run water hot enough to steam up. No mould or cracked paint in five years.

Adding a speaker between isolator switch and extractor?

Would I need to tell anyone if I piggybacked the switch or the cable between the switch and the extractor?

Adding a speaker between isolator switch and extractor?

Extractor doesn't get used, I'm thinking more from a regulation/blow things up point of view.

Adding a speaker between isolator switch and extractor?

Hi I want to add a speaker in the bathroom to the lighting/extractor circuit. (Low power, sealed for humidity.) Can I add a junction box between the isolator switch (its in the hallway) and the fan to run a cable to the speaker? Thanks, Kp
