Is it normal to ask a Part P sparky this?

Thanks a lot for all your responses, my dad is a 3 phase commercial electrician with 18th edition but not a registered competent person for domestic, so maybe building control will accept him filling out the certificate? I’ll ask them. Thanks again, might’ve saved me money!

Is it normal to ask a Part P sparky this?

Thanks, but I don’t really understand where I, urgh, stand..? Building control have been involved from the start. They want a Part P certificate. Is it normal to approach a local sparky and ask for them to test and certify work they haven’t done themselves?

Is it normal to ask a Part P sparky this?

Hi everyone I’ve built my own large extension and, at the start of the project, about four years ago, I had a Part P sparky mate who agreed with me that if I do the first and second fix electrics up to standard, then he would test and sign it off. Well four years later I’ve finished the...

No Square Edge Moisture Resistant Board

Thanks very much, this makes sense, and with the link to the other thread posted above I see that tapered edge will give a stronger join when plastering the lot. My only hesitation then is would it be easier for a DIYer to plaster with the square edge rather than tapered as you can do the first...

No Square Edge Moisture Resistant Board

I’m saying, is it not the wrong product buying tapered edge board, when I intend to plaster the whole ceiling rather than just taping and filling the joins? I’m just surprised merchants tend to only have the tapered edge, unless A) most people tape and fill the join rather than plaster the...

No Square Edge Moisture Resistant Board

Isn’t it a bit rubbish though buying tapered edge when not just filling the joins?

No Square Edge Moisture Resistant Board

My local merchants both don’t stock square edged moisture resistant boards, only tapered. One commented that if you want the square edge you could flip them over, but this requires both faces to be the same no? My intention was to use the boards for my bathroom ceiling and skim over the lot...

Correct way to install this flat EPDM terminal

Hi can someone offer some guidance as the best lapping arrangements for this Ubbink OFT/5 flat roof terminal? Does the included “skirt” stick to the EPDM via contact adhesive and left exposed or does it end up below a layer of the elastiform type tape like in the second image? Does the...

How to Temporarily Close an Auto Bypass Valve

How to Temporarily Close an Auto Bypass Valve

Hi Is there any way to temporarily close an auto bypass valve like the one shown in the attached picture? Please don’t ask why, there’s a good reason! I just need to stop the flow through it without altering the pipework connected to it, wasnt sure if you could take the head apart or...
