We asked our plumber to chase some pipes into the wall in preparation for redecoration. I think it is a gas pipe and a condensate pipe. I have attached an image and just wanted to check that it is all above board and safe to chase a gas pipe as he has done surrounded by some sort of foam...

And also, if we are using insulation boards as it is a kitchen extension with a concrete floor, do we still need an underlay or can we just install as below from top to bottom...
Well the roofers have left, and our carpenter is coming past today to look at finishing up the interior so I guess we'll know more then and I am confident he will comment if he thinks there is an issue with the internal support!

As we are only leaseholders we cannot alter the windows...however they are being replaced sometime between April 2012 and April 2013...so only 1 or 2 winters to bear!
