hello i have tiled with 100 plus tilers over the years and i have seen went the tile is pushed down from 1mm to 100mm and no probs with any job i have seen years later this will depend on the adesive

you could use tanking solution to seal it and screw every 6" in all directions, for strength

hello you can use 2mm or biger the biger you go with the peg the easer it will be you may struggle with all your grout lins on each side. the bed thickness will depend on how good your was are, wall & floor grout. wat are you tiling on the floor
