glow worm compact, hot water but no central heating

i have a glowworm compact combi, and currently it senses a demand for hot water even though the taps are all off and no dripping. I disconnected the plug for the diverter valve micro switch and the other sensor to the diverter valve and its still the same. My question is really, would it be...

Help, I can't identify this system

Thanks DP. I spent nearly an hour at the place and sussed all that, the mixer valve did throw me, as its the first one I have come across. Another plumber I spoke to thinks its a strange place to have one as it would cool the water, even to the sink, where you need hot, hot water. However, I...

    Relpacing sink and taps

once you have the water off and the old stuff out of the way, fit zone valves (ball-o-valves) to the existing pipes, if not already fitted, before going on to fit the sink. That way you should be able to get the water back on to the rest of the house and if there are probs, then you should only...

Help, I can't identify this system

I have been unable to find anyone who would know this type of system and made an offer to replace it with a conventional indirect cylinder and header tanks. Should be cheaper for them in the long run.

Help, I can't identify this system

does anyone know about this system, it is a vented dhw but seems to be a sealed heating circuit. I seek advice on how it is filled and how pressure is regulated, with no visible means of regulation, pressure gauge or safety valve. Alternatively I seek somewhere that may show the relevant...

    no central heating

Yes Doitall it is.a Although I have seen it more often with hot water going off and heating still running due to the diaphragm perishing or stretching

    no central heating

if you read back I didn't say the pump was ok, I said the 3 port valve should be ok as the pump is running. As to the first part of your question, in combis I understood it was a diverter not 3 port, but whats in a name. they will know just what you want down the plumbcentre. The pump could...

    no central heating

because I dont know about you, but all the 3 port valves I have fitted have micro switches in them that wont start the pump until they are triggered and they are only triggered when the port calling for heat is open.

    no central heating

good practise or no, it aint common round here and why would you want to keep a cylinder of water hot all the time when what you use most often is heated instantaneously
