Curious it is indeed. But yes, you have a point there regarding potential weakening of the joinery. IL remove a panel and take pics.
Other option would be to remove the glass, and board over each section so it's flush with the 'transoms' , then paper over. Or not paper over and attempt to make...
Hello, recently moved into 70's semi. Next to the door to the main bedroom is a section of glass panels, floor to ceiling, which form part of the bedroom perimeter wall. Previous owners cover over with wallpaper. I want to fill it in, so once all decorated it will look like a normal wall. See...
Hello, not long moved house. I took down the shed the other day and noticed there was power going to it. In the fuse box there was a switch labelled 'garage', and this was feeding the power to the shed. I turned it off, to make it safe as its not needed now. But later, i noted no hot water in...
Not that I'm doubting your advice re not rendering below the dpc, but I've wandered around my estate and tons of homes have been rendered to ground. Why? I've checked with my neighbour who also have render to the ground, they have never had damp issues and have been there for near 40 years...
Hello. There is no damp on the inside walls or floor, not that I've noticed anyway. Yes, interior floors are all on the same level. I'm already looking into starting the removal of cracking render and re pointing.
Any idea how much it would cost to get someone in? 5.75 sq meters
Not to ground level ? really, my whole estate has this, probably around 1000 homes. Surely its better that the render gets the damp opposed to the brick work ?
Hi , i need to repair cracked render to the lower exterior of my house.
Approximate area - 11.3 meter x 43cm
How much would this cost roughly?
Easy enough to do it myself ?
