I’m not worried about fitting a smart switch in the future. With that in mind, is it best to do it as mentioned before?

I’m saying it is permanent as the bottom wiring is the original colours of black and red, along with yellow/green.

Thank you. I’m pretty sure it is the main power to the lights, because a light was moved in one of the upstairs rooms hence why the junction box was used.

The cables going into the junction box are all electrical supply for other lights in the upstairs rooms.

I am looking at installing a new light and switch. I have 3 power cables going into a junction box in the loft. Am I right in thinking that I can put new cable into junction box then connect to light fitting. Then have cable from light fitting in switch?

No, it’s just a double socket in the kitchen which has the small chest freezer plugged into it. The kitchen electrics are on a different breaker.

We have a double socket which is wired directly to the MCB. I want to put another socket about 6 feet away. Can I just spur off this? Have attached picture to give an idea of what it is.

Because I don’t want to get ripped off when there may be an easier alternative

Does the 106m include to and from CU, as room sizes are well under 106 square meters

I may just get him to put spur off 1 socket to a double socket. It is only for a couple of table lamps and maybe a TV if the kids want to go in there.

We are looking at putting some extra sockets into another room, however an electrician we have spoken to has said we can possibly extend the ring main. He has mentioned about breaking the connection between the 2 circled sockets and extending the main that way, ie connect to socket then create...
