    Another Radiator Isssue

OK = all radiators off and we have heat! - the radiator is too hot to touch. Next question - how do I go about turning the other radiators on without screwing things up for the hall one? I mean what if I wanted all my other radiators at max - is that going to cause the same issue for the hall...

    Another Radiator Isssue

Had the small hall radiator replaced in summer time. Now the heating is on, its not getting as hot as it should. Both valve sides are too hot to touch, and the first couple of vertical bars are hot, the remainder of the radiator is lukewarm. Valves are fully open and pin is moving smoothly on...

    Brushed steel switch ‘spacer’?

I cant seem to find what I’m after googling… I have a single gang brushed steel light switch surface mounted. I’m installing some 20mm wood strips on this wall and dont want the light switch to be ‘recessed’. Is there such a thing as a brushed steel ‘spacer’ I can easily attach to the existing...

Thermostat Mixer Tap not going above 40 degrees

Doesn’t make any difference Jim thanks. Thing is the actual tap body itself is ‘burning’ at the hot feed, but the tap is clearly feeding in too much cold water to the mix.

Thermostat Mixer Tap not going above 40 degrees

Thanks Jim - I had suspected that, but the builder tells me thats not the case, I had a look myself and theres nothing to see with the bath panel off. Apparently the scald safety is the tap itself? I’m in the bath now lol and its still nowhere near hot enough. I like when Its so hot you can just...

Thermostat Mixer Tap not going above 40 degrees

Thanks flameport. I’ve followed the instructions which are fairly simple now you’ve given me that guidance. On stage 3 I had to turn the spindle as far as it would go to get water that was remotely ‘hot’. For example, I can hold my hand under the bath tap with the spindle fully turned, but the...

Thermostat Mixer Tap not going above 40 degrees

Hi, New build house (builder has been contacted but if this can be fixed myself I’ll do it)… On the bath is a bath, hand held shower head mixer tap. Hansgrohe - https://www.hansgrohe.co.uk/articledetail-ecostat-thermostatic-bath-mixer-1001-cl-for-exposed-installation-13201000 Problem I have...

Heavy (REALLY heavy) clay prep for turfing?

We moved into a new build house in July and had paid the developer to lay turf. We knew it would only be for a few short months while we waited to start garden design. We’ve now had about half the turf lifted to make way for a new deck and patio area as well as a large raised bed. Its fair to...

    Wireless Doorbell Extender

I tried terminals A&B on the sender but the chimes were chiming constantly. The manual suggests if that happens to switch the wires B&A which I did but pressing the bell push has no effect at all now. I've put it back to A&C with a new battery (again) and am awaiting further info from the...

    Wireless Doorbell Extender

Any advice appreciated. I puchased a Byron BY32 wireless doorbell extender - manual here https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0054/2054/8214/files/BY32.pdf?v=1637834150 My existing bell push and chime just isnt loud enough so this provides me with 2 additional plug in chimes around the house. When...

    Outdoor Buried Cable

Not sure. The house is brand new build so any electrical work including the outside sockets will have been done to current regs. I checked the consumer unit and there isnt a specifically marked fuse for outdoor sockets, but there are two ‘RCD controlled circuits’ in there.
