I cant seem to find what I’m after googling…

I have a single gang brushed steel light switch surface mounted. I’m installing some 20mm wood strips on this wall and dont want the light switch to be ‘recessed’.

Is there such a thing as a brushed steel ‘spacer’ I can easily attach to the existing back box to bring the switch faceplate ‘forward’ so it sits as it should just proud of the new wooden strips?

Can't you just use a back box extender and finish of the wood so it has an aperture the current switch can just sit on?
