Extending a length of 2.5mm cable - what are the regs ?

I don't really understand why it was okay for your old sparky mate who has sadly passed to be very keen on unbroken cable runs but it is not okay for Bernardgreen or others on here to feel the same?

Extending a length of 2.5mm cable - what are the regs ?

You know the bit where your old sparky mate was very keen on there being unbroken cables. And then the bit where you don't know the answer to your question. Well you do, if you think about it for a moment.

    Recommend me a wheelbarrow - 2 wheels or 1?

Exactly this. I've had my wheelbarrow 30 years now and use it every day. Just need to maintain it properly. It's had 17 new wheels and 14 new tubs, it looks barely a couple of years old.

    Concealing cables for TV

40mm, something like this. https://www.screwfix.com/p/floplast-solvent-weld-waste-pipe-white-40mm-x-3m/44310 I have had 3 HDMIs, 1 optical and 1 aerial coax through it with no problem. No need for a draw string, I have had everything out of it whilst redecorating and then just fed it all back...

    Concealing cables for TV

I've recently done this and used a 40mm solid trunking into the wall between two back boxes. I cut the top and bottom respectively of the back boxes and then brush plates to finish. Everything plastered over the top. My advice would be not to underestimate how much you need to take out to run...

TV feature wall - TV DOES NOT FIT!!

Yeah it does appear to be the way is it going and it makes sense. I know as I feel a bit silly for making a huge channel in my wall to run a 40mm conduit and another to put a power socket behind the TV. Seems like I have done it the dated way now...

TV feature wall - TV DOES NOT FIT!!

It is one cable and a shadow you can see. There is also another picture where you can see it now coming out from the back of the wall behind the TV. It is one of those new TVs where you only need to run one small cable up to it for power, HDMIs etc and everything.

    Can I T-Cut this scuff?

Yeah, definitely worth another go. Keep working the area until you have got a sweat on that means you don't feel the cold! It is hard work by hand as you are doing the work of a machine polisher. That being said, looking at your last photo, it doesn't look too hopeful you are going to get...

    Can I T-Cut this scuff?

I wouldn't wet sand if you don't have experience in it. It's a sure fire way to do more harm than good. The great thing about hand polishing is that it is pretty much impossible to do any damage. Wet sanding or machine polishing require more knowledge, experience and expertise to do safely...

    Can I T-Cut this scuff?

I've agreed that to get it back to 100% it will need some paintwork. But you'd be surprised how much polishing can take out and for the sake of less than £20 investment, it is worth a try in my opinion. It's not really a case of paying out twice.
