Ok, I think its fixed , I looked at the filling loop again and the tap appeared damaged so it looks as if it has been costantly filling for I dont know how long , I Have replaced it and alls good , I was just wondering if anyone could explain what was actually happening , how could an open loop...

would this explain the fact that is yellow/brown to begin with , then clears, then re occurs? , also did it start without warning I appreciate your advice.

boiler make and model is ferroli optima 901 (yeah i know !!) is a combi , water is yellow , another forum suggested that as the pressure on the boiler hadnt changed that theres a possibility that its not the heat exchanger and possible a faulty filling loop? Also has only started since turned...

This morning I discovered that there was brown water coming from the hot tap only (all hot taps) , looks like the sort of thing you get when road works have taken place , however not the case as only the hot tap effected, this is obviously something to do with the boiler. OK, here's the full problem, the boiler keeps short cycling, the flame stays on but dies down, initially I thought as this was affecting the water temp, hot /lukewarm it was related to the water or heat exchanger, however the boiler locks out without water on, seems water just goes cold...

The pump seems to be moving the water, however Pump is getting very hot indeed, I've removed the small metal disk and it does spin freely and doesn't make a noise, please look at attached advice, is this suggesting that I turn boiler back on with the metal disc removed? Won't that throw...

Apologies for ignorance but if I open the filling loop and open a drain tap with hose attached into the drain, won't it just flush through the water until clear, I've see a youtube video where a professional removed a radiator and attached a drain to one side of the fitting and hose providing...

Then I will refill and add cleaner and then flush again and refill
