    Electric fire socket swap.

That’s strange. I plugged in a multitool and it didn’t work. It did work in other sockets though.

Hi, i have a socket ( blue circle) which was behind a fireplace powering an electric fire. The red circle is the isolating switch containing a 13amp fuse. (also see fuse box photo) I want to use the socket to power a mounted tv but am wary of amp differences. What do i need to change to...

Slight leak from new installed shower.

Yep, only a bead on the outside according to the supplier instructions. Tbh as long as the bottom inside isn’t sealed so water can drain away i don’t see why not, but i thought best follow instructions. Anyway, i took the frame off, seal compromised. I’ve also knocked in a couple of batons...

Slight leak from new installed shower.

Hi all, i have recently installed a shower and I’m getting a leak at both ends right at the very outside edge underneath, almost outside the shower screen. Scratch finish on rendering - missed areas. How to resolve?

We had some coloured rendering done about 4 weeks ago. A scratch coat was applied and then a second coat which was finished using a scratch float. The renderer however has missed several spots which is spoiling the finish. We've asked the guy to come back. We do have 5 bags of leftover render...

Outdoor Porcelain tiles. 10mm or 20mm thickness.

Hi, We're looking at re-laying out patio. We've seen both 10 mm and 20mm tiles, the 20mm tiles are of course much more expensive. Would we really need 20mm tiles? Or would 10mm tiles laid on an appropriate surface concrete/cement be ok?

Cost for lifting patio, prep and re-tiling + wall.

Pretty sure its sharp sand underneath & no concrete. We lifted a flag a couple of years ago to put a washing line pole in.

Cost for lifting patio, prep and re-tiling + wall.

We are Getting an extension built and are waiting on a quote from out builder for a patio. We are supplying the tile, but what kind of price can I expect for lifting an existing patio ( flag stones ) prepping and re-tiling. Approx 26 sq metre. We've also asked for a short garden wall, approx...
