Hi All,
Took on my latest DIY project to build a TV featurewall, but unfortunately due to not allowing any allowance for errors in my measurements it seems the TV won't fit into the opening. On one side it's got enough of an opening, but the other side is too small - by about 0.7cm...

Hi guys,
I've bought 2 google nest thermostats and I'm planning to install them myself, unfortunately I've now been told that it's not something that would be safe to do seeing as I'm not a qualified electrician!
I wanted to get an opinion on weather it would be something I could install...
Ah right I didn't notice that, good spot! I've made a note of that now as well. I'm quite surprised that the rendering is this bad, it's been 8 months since it's been done. I didn't think there would be this many issues in such a short period!
Thanks for your reply, agreed the render is awful and I guess from your response a simple repair job won't do! I'm trying to get the developer to take responsibility for it, will push for redoing the whole rendering!
Update: So the developer is looking into what's causing the issue, they think it's possibly the guttering.
I want to know now what can possibly be done to rectify the issue, is there a quick fix or will the rendering have to be done again? If the rendering does have to be done again, does...
Thank you Ian for your reply, I think the new stairs option might be out of the equation because of the price, although probably the best idea. Looks like it's going to have to be boxed off, which isn't ideal aesthetically but I don't think there's any other option!
Thank you very much Tel for your reply, I'm going to speak to the developer tomorrow to notify him of the issues. It does seem like it's a cause for concern then, which isn't ideal but it is what it is. Thanks again!
Hi All,
In the last stages of a house purchase but I've come across some issues with the outside. The 2 main issues are:
1. The rendering seems to have damp which can be seen by the darker blotches on the rendering.
2. The corner of the house has damp on the bricks at the bottom.
My question...
Hi All - my stair stringer comes out of the celling in the living room, the developers have plastered over it but it still looks dreadful! I wanted to see what my options were in making it look better or solving the issue! All replies are much appericated.
