Thanks all - yes the superkettle thing might be a better alternative - i didn't realise those plumbed in things are literally a hot water tank with a tap...

is there any plumbed in hot water kettle type things for private use? we have one in the office and i was wondering whether there are ones for domestic use also follow on from that has anyone done it - and are they more energy efficient than kettles? just a thought really

have loft with a roof that has what looks like black liner inside it. also have some loft insulation on floorboards - need to top up a bit more. Is there anything i can add on the inside of the roof to significantly reduce heat loss? Thanks very much

Hello! i need to paint some dark paint in the strips where the wallpaper will join. It's wallpaper that says "best results from pasting onto wall - not wallpaper". If i paint today - can i wallpaper tomorrow? it is dulux emulsion paint help much appreciated :)

:lol: yes not completely bonkers- guess right word is maisonette? is a split level flat with a rather boring straight staircase that's also a little dark and it's a concrete square box that's not really been done much with since the 70s. it's getting better slowly

i ha)ve no advice apart from i bought a flat, that had matt painted over silk/shiny emulsion and it was CARNAGE to take off. the minute i wiped the walls down with some water to clean them before painting, the paint started to bubble. Not a trade person, so no idea, but would be surprised if...

ooh i'm not sure as i didn't see the guys changing it, the old hob def has a green/yellow electric wire with white plastic bits on the end. (i.e. it's obv not a plug socket. the new hob also came with an electric wire attached. does this mean anything?

am i thinking i don't need a certificate? As far as i can tell i don't (and can read about) - just had mine replaced and concerned it's done right. It was literally replacing like with like: gas hob with ignition button to gas hob with push button ignition just needed some comfort :)
