Whole tile in corner of shower?

I think having the corner as the centre would probably look best. The backerboard is being layed at roughly 80 x 80 which would also work well with the tiles (using just 2mm spacers). So think I will go with my plan, unless anyone tells me a reason why I'm being stupid :).

Whole tile in corner of shower?

Thanks - it's going to be tiled on a (new) hardiebacker stud wall, so I'll make sure all is level and square as I go.

Whole tile in corner of shower?

Thanks for the reply - so there's nothing inherently wrong with a whole tile in the corner? of course, I'll measure and draw a line to make sure it's all level.

Whole tile in corner of shower?

Bit of background, soon to start tiling a small 76x76 shower using 20cm wide tiles. This will be on a stud wall with hardiebacker cement board. There's only two tile walls, the others are the glass shower enclosure. As the tiles are 20cm wide, I'd really like to start with a whole tile in the...

Small plasterboard join needed filling advice please

A small bag of easifill is only a few quid more expensive than a pot of ready mixed and will give you a much better finish.

Building up wall before dot and dab

Thanks for the quick reply. It's around the door frame (dont want to take that off if possible) but the wall is a bit wonky so at the bottom of the board it meets the door frame fine, but at the top where it meets another board that is above the door frame it's a fair bit lower. So really...

Building up wall before dot and dab

Hi Guys, After a bit of advice - taken off some blown plaster and want to dot and dab some plasterboard to patch it up. Only problem is, to get it level with the board next to it, it would need to be built up a bit (annoying not quite enough for two boards together). I'd rather get it...

    Noobie Plastering help

Disclaimer: I'm just a DIYer that has done some plastering. I've done similar to what you are doing but with hardwall instead of bonding as it was a high suction background. Before applying the hardwall I have the area a good clean and wet it first - really you shouldn't have to use pva...

Plaster Wall corner repair and prep for painting

I've recently been using easi fill and have good success with it. I'm not sure about using it for the deeper stuff - I'm sure it's possible but best to build it up in layers if trying that. I've found it useful for getting rid of paint edges too, I just run a filling knife along the old paint...

    To PVA Or not?

Non expert point of view: How bad is the wall? If it's just some hairline cracks as you said then I would get the wall as clean as possible, give it a coat of paint to see how it looks and then use gyproc easi fill to fill any small cracks etc.

Fitting plasterboard & lime plaster issue

Disclaimer: I'm not a pro so I'm sure you will get some better answers but this is the way I'd probably go: Use joint filler to fill the gap between the board and the wall. Scrim over the joint filler and around the corner to the lime wall. Use something like easifill on the other wall...

Would it not be easier to just replace those boards?

    Reskim over lime

On the small wall I did a few weeks ago I used 2 coats of PVA at about 50% mix and then one final (allowed to go tacky with about 70% water) just before the skim and it seems to have held up pretty well. I gave it a mist coat yesterday and no signs of cracking or anything so hoping all is OK.

    Reskim over lime

Hi Guys, First post so hope it's not too long. Here's the situation. We have old lime plaster in a post ww2 ex council house - it is solid red brick with a pebble dash render on the outside. The plaster going up the stairs is blown in a few places so I've hacked away any blown plaster and...
