I’m going to contact a local car stereo firm this week, but one other issue I’ve discovered is that the stereo only comes on if you’ve got the ignition turned to the first notch.
On my car, and on all other cars we’ve owned, you can switch the stereo on without even having the keys inserted...
Cheers.
Still not sure why the issue with it cutting out only started in the last day 6 weeks. Before that it only lost power when the stop/start kicked in.
The new stereo has gone off when the auto stop start kicked, and come back on when the engine starts back up again, ever since it was fitted.
The issue with it going off at random now has been happening for the last couple of months.
What does the auxiliary feed do?
We had a Pioneer car stereo fitted in the mrs’ car last year at Halfords
In the last couple of months it has started to go off and come back on (as if the power is going for a split second or is rebooting). Music goes off, along with the display on the front panel. It comes straight back on a...
It’s a 2015 Ka. 4k miles since the last service.
The service portfolio just lists every 12500 miles or 1 year, and I’ve always stuck to the yearly recommendation. Oil and filter change as a minimum.
But again, unless you’re old school I believe most people would just take their car to a...
We’ve got a couple of Fords in the household and with both you just get the service portfolio that the garage stamps after each service. Nothing extra printed in the book though that says what Ford recommend.
Oil and filter are a given each year for sure.
I would guess the average Joe would...
Thanks all. Much appreciated and very helpful.
I think like you said if you take it to a decent garage/mechanic they should/would know what needs doing. Especially if you tell them how many miles you’ve done since the last service.
This puts my mind at rest. Thanks again.
Hi all,
Just after a bit of advice.
How do you find out what type of service your car needs each year?
I only do about 6k miles per year and when I drop it off at the garage each year for a service I tell them how many miles it’s done and leave it with them.
I’ve always assumed that a...
It’s condensation by the looks of it.
I went in the garage tonight, left the door open, and at first the floor was dry. Ten minutes later there was a damp patch at the front like in the photo.
What I can’t get my head around is the fact we’ve never had this problem in any of the garages in...
Had it again this morning.
I’m beginning to think it could be condensation.
It hasn’t rained for the last few days. The photo below is from when I first opened the garage door and about 45 minutes earlier it had spread more - in particular near the front of the garage.
I’ve never had this...
