    Adding basins to pumped supply

Hi all, I am istalling new basins and monobloc mixer taps in 2 bathrooms. The pressure through the new taps is very low compared to the previous installation. There is an existing H&C 22mm pumped feed to each bathroom for the showers. 1) Can I take a feed from the existing pumped supply...

    New shower non return valves

Hey ho.. Thanks for that, does that mean you thing the NRV's are required then. as I can get a straight connector without.

    New shower non return valves

Thanks for that... That much I worked out.. the issue is that the existing H&C feeds and their chased routes come directly from the side in line with the entries to the shower valve. re-routing pipes to accomodate the elbow fitting seems overkill!

    New shower non return valves

Hi I have bought a new shower and it comes with large 15mm - 3/4F BSP chrome elbow connectors. These connectors are designed for exposed installation, however this shower will be recessed. due to existing pipe routing from previous shower, I would like to fit similar (but straight)...

Shower pump query - uneven pressures H&C

Thanks again Seco, A quick play with the air vent (so thats what they are!;-) a short pssscht and we are good to go. I have checked with the Mira spares document and i don't seem to have any check valves fitted, the flexi connects directly to the pump out with just a rubber washer/o ring...

Shower pump query - uneven pressures H&C

Thanks Seco. The cold filter was full of sand! must clean the tank... Having sorted that, now the pump keeps intermitttently running on the cold side and there is an ominous rumbling in time with the pump surges coming from under the carpet in the bedroom where the shower pipes...

Shower pump query - uneven pressures H&C

Hi, I have a Mira PPT3 feeding 2 showers. The pressure of the cold feed to both showers is significantly lower than the pressure to the hot. I have checked that both sides of the pump work independently. The cold feed to the pump is gravity fed 22mm and the feed to the hot side is tee'd...

    Bathroom upgrade RCD

Thanks BAS, Those were the kind of fittings I was trying to avoid, mainly because I don't like the look of most of them. However I take your torch explanation on board and will have a rethink... to be fair, if you were to happen upon me in the shower you would be more than grateful for a...

    Bathroom upgrade RCD

Hi BAS If I knew this stuff do you think I would be trolling these forums? I currently have a T shaped en-suite with a 100w light that is very bright but leaves 2 dark corners. I want to distribute the light better. 3 downlighters seems to do the trick. I have read posts, some...

    Bathroom upgrade RCD

Are you suggesting that 3No. GU10's at 35W or 50W won't light the same space as an existing 100 watt bulb, which is in itself too much for the space?

    Bathroom upgrade RCD

Thanks BAS I haven't spec'd the lamps yet. still undecided on ELV or 240V - plenty of threads to read through yet as there is a lot of divided opinion. There will be 3 lamps in each room max 50watt at the mo. Thanks Ericmark Those are indeed the theoretical max loads, I was refering...

    Bathroom upgrade RCD

Thanks for those replies. The CU doesn't have any RCD protection and I have sourced a RCBO to fit at £30ish. Just wanting to make sure that that was an acceptable solution and to avoid making illinformed decisions based purely on advice from contractors. BAS not sure what you are referring...

    Bathroom upgrade RCD

Hi all, I am planning upgrades of two bathrooms and will be installing new down lights and extraction. I understand that these items will require RCD protection. I have trolled a number of posts on here with a variety of advice. It would seem the easiest solution is to install an RCBO in...
