To clarify, the dailymail says:- “Most police forces have a tolerance of 10 per cent plus 2mph above the limit before drivers face prosecution for speeding.” HOWEVER, this is in an article that states:- “In a new report, set to be published tomorrow, the All Parliamentary Group for Cycling...

If I wrap my keyless car key in lead sheet, will that stop it’s signal being transmitted?

According to the reviews of the storage boxes on Amazon (all using aluminium as a shield), they don’t always work, hence I wondered if lead would be better? Sorry if is not the right sub for this mods, but this technical sub seemed the best place for my question.

How to check if you have been caught in a police speed trap

Additionally, my understanding is that if you are clocked by a FIXED speed camera, that uses the lines on the road to determine your speed, then you will receive a speeding ticket for 1mph or more above the limit!

How to check if you have been caught in a police speed trap

I will be away from home for 4 or 5 weeks, and yesterday I approached a police speed trap van while doing about 41/42 in a 40 limit zone, and quickly dabbed the brakes to get it just below 40. I know they are supposed to give you an allowance but am concerned that if they write to me, I will...

Do insurance companies insure new cars without a registration number?

I have placed an order for a new GR86 with Toyota Online, but they want me to insure the vehicle before it is registered so that they can tax it at the same time, but my insurance company NFU Mutual naturally require the registration number. Toyota Online say that many insurance companies will...

Is there a Parkers Guide on the internet like the printed edition

No, I want to keep my car, and buy another and use it for a month or so, and I want to know what I can get for some money that I have saved. The printed version used to list virtually every car made for the previous 10 or 20 years or so, and their price and hence you could see what you could...

Is there a Parkers Guide on the internet like the printed edition

I want to see what I can get for my money, as I may need to buy a car to use for only a month or so, hence looking through the printed edition would be useful but I see that they have stopped printing it. Do they have a website displaying car makes and values like the old books, I have searched...

Please advise how to cut off a 6mm thick redundant bracket on an exhaust

The bracket is about 6mm thick x 75 x 35mm, see pic, and needs to be significantly reduced in size or cut off, and I was thinking of using my 4” Wolf Grinderette and wondering which type of disc would be best, so that I wouldn’t need to apply too much pressure on the plate, so as not to damage...

    Waterproof Glue?

Yeah, you are better off buying or making a new handle as if you repair it, then it could break again and cause you an injury.

Is there a standard for self tapping screws.

I didn’t have to measure the diameter, the stainless ones are about 3/4 of the diameter of the Spax!
