    Wallpaper Matching

Our wallpaper has 2 'match' symbols, a free match and a vertical match. I understand free match, not as certain on vertical match, and not sure how we can have both? https://flic.kr/p/2hQJuNz

    Tiling on tiles

I'm sure this has been asked thousands of times before, and I know it could be considered a 'bodge'. However we've just redecorated our kitchen and want to re-tile the splashbacks. Cant risk stripping the tiles as they are drylined and in danger of taking the plasterboard off. Can we tile over...

Hot water fires boiler but heating doesn't.

How would you know if it's the whole valve or just the motor? On auto the valve isn't moving to CH at all, only water and the mid-point. The valve isn't sticking as I've had the motor off and can even move out by hand.

Hot water fires boiler but heating doesn't.

This is the first time this has ever happened, I may be wrong on your syste, but I'd have thought 'auto' was fully automatic regardless of the system. Mind you - I'm not a plumber

Hot water fires boiler but heating doesn't.

Thanks sooey, think we're getting there. Playing about with the actuator (Danfoss HSA 3) and looks like it will only heat water with the lever on 'auto' and heating on 'manual'. It's a work-around so I'm happier but still not the answer. Is the actuator likely to be the issue?

Oh ok, so the stat sends the signal to the actuator, then the actuator signals to the boiler?

Hot water fires boiler but heating doesn't.

I have a Potterton Suprima 40 boiler controlled by a programmer which I can set HW and CH separately. Heating is also controlled by a Honeywell CM907 stat. Hot water and heating has been working fine for the last few weeks and even first thing this morning, but now heating has stopped working...

    Non porous adhesive

Thanks for your help. Burnerman - is the Screwfix superglue gel do you know? Or should it specifically state it? With regards to the polymer adhesives, are these essentially solvented?

    Half tiled shower wall

This sounds more of a legal issue than a DIY one. I'm sure this is your landlords responsibility, although u may have rocked the boat a little by taking the wallpaper off. If you do do it yourself and you're after cheap and cheerful compared to tiles you could try? white plastic sheet...

    Non porous adhesive

I'm trying to glue back on a glass crystal feature to a metal bed post. As both surfaces are non porous it severely limits my choices of grab adhesives, and the only one I can find is Gripfill Max but i'm struggling to find anywhere which sells it? Can anyone recommend anything which would do...

    Shower turned itself on?!?!?!?!?!

Hi. I have a relatively new bar mix type shower in our en-suite. Don't know the exact type (although should be able to find out) but I got it half price from Screwfix. I think around £60. It's been installed around a year and a half. This morning at round 6:10/6:15 I heard the shower start to...

    Sealant to vinyL floor

Just laid some vinyl flooring and the people in the shop said two things: - make us you don't get water under it as it will blow - don't apply sealant to the edges as it traps moisture Surely dealing the edges will stop moisture entering? Also, there's one edge that I messed up...

Honeywell CM907 thermostat - not now working!

Some of you may remember I had an issue with this last year. I got it working and it went the whole of last winter without any problems. Obviously during the summer I turned the termperature down low. Now, however, when the set temperature is above the room temp it calls for heat. However the...

    Heating on with water

Ok. Where should i start. I'll set it to HW only and see. But i don't have a meter to test this, is there another way? By removing the screws can i easily tell whether it is siezing? Sorry to be a pain but i'm very naive with this. Thanks
