Boiler frozen! Bugger! Can anyone identify this part for me?

Not been serviced yet as is under a year old. The engineer that fitted it is on their approved list on their website at least also. Well yeah, power was on, water was on, gas was on, so no idea why protection did not kick in. But, will put the kettle on as soon as he arrives. It could well be...

Boiler frozen! Bugger! Can anyone identify this part for me?

Thanks...looks very similar to the model I have (Intec 225x "Eco2 Plus"). Hope it's not the whole manifold but just the seal kit (Plumbase Part No: S030933). Would this be covered under their parts and labour warranty? I still have 15months left I think, if I can find the documentation...

Boiler frozen! Bugger! Can anyone identify this part for me?

Hi All, I have an Alpha Intec LPG boiler and over the weekend, with the drop in temps, the pipework froze. Bloomin' frost mode obviously did not kick in, so the boiler didn't do much the following morning. Not much that I could have done at that point, and a bit later after bits of it started...

Depth of compacted hardcore for new floor slab?

Coming back to this now after almost completing the roof. Thanks for all your comments/replies. I'm aiming for high levels of insulation everywhere, and well above building regs. Plenty of slates to use now to elevate the pipework/mesh - thanks for the tip. Okay, best to poker the concrete...

Depth of compacted hardcore for new floor slab?

Thanks. Not having to go any deeper that way. I will have to set the pipes a bit higher in the concrete, but that is do-able. You mean risk of puncturing the pipes with aggregate? Hopefully not, but good point. Not sure if it would need pokering - could mess up my pipes! Main reason for this...

Depth of compacted hardcore for new floor slab?

I will be removing current floor slab in the house and replacing with an insulated slab with UFH. I'm also aiming to do without a separate screed layer - simply powerfloated concrete as top layer. Intend to have a powerfloated concrete slab which will contain the UFH pipes (DPM to add still)...

Working as roofers dogsbody to reduce costs - what £ reduction?

Thanks for your replies. Roofing Co is happy for me to assist and reduce overall quote. I'll let you know how I get on - if I don't get thrown off the scaffold!

Building front porch - advise on footings - mesh needed?

Hi All, Building a front porch and have just about dug up the trench etc. Engineers plans indicate that it's 1m deep with 400mm high by 600mm wide mass fill footings. I'm fine with that. Buried in the plans it states "concrete for mass fill to be Gen 3 mix lap lengths for mesh to be 300mm" So...

Working as roofers dogsbody to reduce costs - what £ reduction?

Well - anything they need helping with. The scaff is mine so no cost to them. Last roofing job a few years ago, the roofer didn't know much about proper install of roof lights or dry verge systems, so glad I was on the roof to assist him. He may have seen me as a hinderance, but at least I was...

Working as roofers dogsbody to reduce costs - what £ reduction?

Got a roofing company to re-tile my roof in the southeast. I'm already stripping the old concrete tiles (saving a few £££). I am now also proposing to work as their dogsbody getting the new tiles and battens onto the scaffolding and then assisting where I am needed on the roof. I was thinking of...

Kommerling 88 Plus (88mm profile) experience / installs

God is indeed everywhere!! Thanks - yes, the KBE_88 does seem to be a select product - shame you've had no installs as you're close to me!

Kommerling 88 Plus (88mm profile) experience / installs

I think the 88mm profile has an additional insulated core inserted into the frame. It also has 3 seals as opposed to the 2 on the R9. Thanks for the warmcore link - no decided on bi-folds. Dont think I will go for upvc as i need approx 5m and dont want to risk the 'warpability'. so warmcore...

Kommerling 88 Plus (88mm profile) experience / installs

Yes, R9 does look good also, but the uw is a bit more on that. This is the other make that was being 'encouraged' by the sales people. For the KBE_88 it's 44mm glass unit though I think the can squeeze in 52mm also. I'm looking to go for passiv-haus-like stds so 3G is crucial for me with decent...

Kommerling 88 Plus (88mm profile) experience / installs

Hi, Been looking at alu-clad windows for a while but budget now seems to be pushing me towards UPVC (triple-glazed) - good uw-values too on some of the profiles I have been looking at. http://www.koemmerling.co.uk/ecomaXL/index.php?site=KOE_GB_GB_88_plus_system I'm tempted to go for the...
