    HDPE pipe fittings leaking

Yes, it was from my workshop, I was a TV engineer for 50 years. Well a new section of pipe a good clean and some S. grease has cured it:cool: I just have about another 8 to do. Had to dig a 4' hole in the hedge to retrieve the coil of pipe, found all sorts of other interesting things under there...

    HDPE pipe fittings leaking

I'm just off down there to take one of the worst sections off and cut a new section of pipe. I do have some silicon grease somewhere but its quite old, I think it came from 'Radiospares'! I have a coil of pipe but its grown into a hedge so I will have to sort that out first. Peter

    HDPE pipe fittings leaking

Thanks for your comments. The pump is near enough the same, I have replaced it several times over the years and have had this problem before but each time I dismantle it the leaking is worse. I have also had other problems which entailed dismantling so its been taken apart a number of times...

Strange noise from 2011 VW polo

I have had this problem on several Peugeot 406's and it was due to the brake backplates rusting between the two layers which pushed them apart and against the discs. Peter

    HDPE pipe fittings leaking

We have a well with a centrifugal pump in the pump house (small shed) with the control gear including a UV system. Its all connected together with 25mm HDPE pipe and fittings. I have just replaced the pump and several of the fittings are leaking especially once it gets up to pumping pressure...

Countax mower, cant remove deck pulleys

I don't understand them either, I thought a key was a key. Anyway two new pulleys later and its OK now if a bit battered. Peter

Countax mower, cant remove deck pulleys

These were so tight John that I bent the pulleys out of shape trying to remove them with a puller. Never thought about heating the pulleys although its obvious really, anything else you want to remove you heat the part with the largest diameter, makes the centre hole bigger. Peter

Countax mower, cant remove deck pulleys

I'm still here. To get mine off I had the assistance of a local mechanic and his acetylene torch, even when red hot they were still reluctant to move, we did get them off eventually but I had to replace the pulleys and grind the end of the shafts down to get them back on again. Coincidentally I...

Honda Izy HRG415C2 SDE starts then stops

Yes it does but no bubbles, the air must be getting in at the pump end. No in tank pump only vacuum from the HP pump. Peter

Honda Izy HRG415C2 SDE starts then stops

Just that it is a vacuum pump in the HP pump and I wondered if the leak off was connected to it. Peter

Honda Izy HRG415C2 SDE starts then stops

Been there and done that John, had the whole fitting out of the tank then couldn't get it back in again because the tank had warped! Mine has an inspection cover in the floor. There are no air bubbles in the fuel line at all whereas before I changed the fuel filter there were. The problem seems...

Honda Izy HRG415C2 SDE starts then stops

Thanks John and hope you are keeping well. I have the carb off and bowl removed but that was as far as I got so will give it another go tomorrow if we don't get blown away tonight. I also have another car problem, I know this is the wrong thread, if you want me to move it just say. I have a...

Honda Izy HRG415C2 SDE starts then stops

Hi John I know this is a somewhat old post but I have a similar problem with my Izzy, its always been such a good starter but this year it would only run with the choke on. It starts and runs briefly on easy start but even with the choke on now it wont run on petrol. The fuel is getting into...
