    Sealing pipe entering plastic riser?

This is the post that lead me to the back drop. This is domestic. It's rainwater and approx 2.5m in length. https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/maximum-drainage-pipe-fall-for-rainwater.656984/#post-6247682

    Sealing pipe entering plastic riser?

Not quite what you're saying. It's a new inspection chamber, so no issues with digging down to it. This web page shows exactly what I'm looking to do and appears to be the same riser in the photo...

    Sealing pipe entering plastic riser?

    It's a round Floplast one https://www.screwfix.com/p/floplast-push-fit-inspection-chamber-riser-450-x-235mm/57228

    Sealing pipe entering plastic riser?

It's the riser that I need to drill, not the pipe. The 110mm pipe will enter half way up the chamber.

    Sealing pipe entering plastic riser?

I need to cut into the plastic risers on an inspection chamber and was wondering if/how to seal the pipes (110mm). I'm doing it for a back drop pipe, and it's only for rainwater. Do I just use sealant around the pipe or is there something better?

    Backfill under patio

Pea gravel? I thought that might move too much?

    Backfill under patio

I will be doing a new patio and have dug out in a few places for inspection chambers and drainage pipes. Can I re-use the dirt to back fill if I compact it as much as possible or do I need to use scalpings for everything other than pea gravel immediately around the pipes? I don't want to waste...

Jointing at edges of unbound patio

I'm laying concrete slabs with sand between the joints. I was wondering how I do the edges, because I would expect the sand to fall out if there isn't something solid there (like sand an cement). I have two ideas at the moment: 1. Contrasting setts and use sand and cement, but the joints may...

Maximum drainage pipe fall for rainwater

There is no 'main chamber'. My pipe is the end of the run and it goes into a neighbors property, so I currently don't have access to any chambers. It requires me adding a new chamber. As the ACO drain is quite close to where the existing pipe is, I would need to dig out most of the area for a...

Maximum drainage pipe fall for rainwater

Maybe I will. I was avoiding that as it will be a lot more money (a whole inspection chamber) and a lot of work (digging down at least 1m deep). I would also probably need to redo an existing pipe with a backdrop as it will probably need a different level for the chamber.

    Mix for kerb stones

That's a good idea. Looking at the installation instructions and videos, it looks like they take this approach. There's a small bed in the picture between the concrete and kerb stones. I don't think they've explained it well but I think this is what they mean. I've gone for a smaller concrete...

Maximum drainage pipe fall for rainwater

So I think, I will probably go for either a steep pipe directly into the main pipe, or a vertical drop and then a 1:40 fall to the main drain. Would building control be happy with these approaches? As this patio and drainage is part of an extension project they may inspect it.

Maximum drainage pipe fall for rainwater

I've realised that the over-priced ACO sump unit is probably useless. The cut outs at the bottom of the channel drains are around 68mm, which means I probably wouldn't be able to get my hand or tools into the sump, which is 110mm. What would be the best option for this pipe? Do a steep angle...

    Mix for kerb stones

I'm laying kerb stones for a step and also where my patio meets my grass. The installation instructions say to bed them on 150mm of concrete but everything I see appears to use sharp sand and cement, and a lot less of it. What mix should I use, ballast or sharp sand? Is 150mm a good depth for...

Maximum drainage pipe fall for rainwater

I've noticed that the plastic inspection chambers don't have holes near the top. Can I use one of those and drill/cut a hole for drainage pipe entries? Or would it need to be brick built?
