Does using the floaters in the pool for chlorine dispensing help reduce the cost of electricity used by pool? One could then presumably reduce the amount of time water is pumped over chlorine blocks placed in the pool trough (which water passes over from pool to pump). Thus reducing use and cost...
Looking to buy an electric towel heater radiator - (long narrow sort) to replace existing one no longer working. I had a remote control device for on and off and length of time etc for existing one- cannot find any replacement. Looking to buy just ordinary towel heater rad. to replace it using...
Thanks - I did google the problem as well and have translated to French the main details - such as ''faulty expansion vessel'' and ''faulty relief valve'' but it could be that direct translations of these words are not what the items are called in French!
I am wondering if the fact that I have turned the central heating off on the boiler this summer instead of on the thermostat - which is very complicate- having never done that in the past - would that affect the boiler pressure??
Thanks Picasso - will make a note of that. I know the pressure gauge is working because the first thing I know when it is too low is that I have no hot water - the boiler is in a basement location and I never look at it. I need to get the boiler working as I will soon need to put some central...
Thanks - the very high pressure - showing 2.5 has already gone down to 2.0 ( I ran a lot of hot water). It will now probably go down to a pressure which gives no hot water at all. I wanted to know what to say to the engineer on Monday, who is under contract, to ensure I do not keep getting this...
Have you considered Glo-worm boilers - I had one fitted a few years ago and it was about GBP600. It has not given me any trouble. I do not know what they cost today.
The model is ''City 1.24/ll GN - or City 1.24/ll B/P - as on the front of the instruction manual. It is wall mounted. I have the instructions in French - I could not find the model on the DeDietrich web site - only on French DIY forums. When the engineer came on 1/8/17 he took off the front...
It is not really a ''button'' - there are 2 ''knobs'' under the wall mounted boiler which you turn clockwise to increase pressure - I think ''button'' is ''knob'' in French!
Hi - this has happen 3 times now. After 2 - 3 weeks the boiler loses pressure and there is no hot water. I then turn on the 2 buttons that are supposed to increase pressure - wait 10 - 15 minutes - nothing happens - turn off buttons - go back later and pressure is on maximum. The boiler does not...
Just to up date - I turned off the stop cock to the communal cold water supply. The knocking stopped. I have had list of qualified plumbers from Chartered Institute of Plumbers for my area and will try to get one of them to fix problem.
Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I do not have my own cold water tank. The hot and cold water are off communal tanks and there are communal boilers for the hot water. It is a mansion flat building. The pipes are mostly copper. About 2 years ago I changed the run in my flat of the communal...
I have read through previous posts about knocking pipes - none are the same as mine.
I have plumbing pipes that are not from central heating knocking 4 times a minute continuously in a shower room. The noise happens when nothing is being usedor is being used. The pressure is not great. I have...
I have just been out to buy the frame mounted locks similar to the "euro secure" ones but on studying the instructions - it says a hole must be drilled into the "aluminium" for the bolt to secure the window - no mention of PVC. My windows are PVC - can these be drilled into to make the hole...
