    Help to identify sockets/connectors

First thank you both for the reply and the info. I shall get one on order ;-) It's no wonder I couldn't find them. To answer the questions :- It's currently just twin and earth, one pin is unused. It's fed from the house via what used to be a 13 AMP plug but is now on a RCD of it's own...

    Help to identify sockets/connectors

Hi, I could do with some help for the forum in identifying the connectors & sockets I recently found in the garden of my new home. I've linked to some pictures are at the end of this post. They are metal, with a rubber end cap, a top screw, which links earth to the outer metal and are...

Self adhesive door strips. Where can I buy?

Hi Jonb, thanks for the reply. I've not really considered the DIY option as yet. The version the flooring guy showed me were screw-hole free and you simply peel off a backing and stick them down. Given that they exist already, I had not got around to the how-to DIY solution. Given...

Self adhesive door strips. Where can I buy?

No problem, I see from your quote you are not wrong  I've had my fair share of halfwits reply in other forums but not here, generally I've found this forum to be most reasonable. My mistake I consider myself duly scolded :D Still can't find the bloody self adhesive door strips...

Self adhesive door strips. Where can I buy?

Sorry Breezer, didn't mean to sound so sarcastic, too hot in-front of this PC today me thinks. True if I'd have been more forthcoming, you'd have known this, but I don't want to make the post massive, keep it simple seems to be a better approach. I think you most people on the forum have a damn...

Oh why didn't I think of that  Of course I've tried Google, plus all the usual sheds, B&Q, Screwfix, local carpet shop etc. Hence me posting here. The only one's I can find are the screw down type. Regards CC

Hi Gents, many thanks for the replies, sorry about the delay in responding, for some reason the forum did not post that I had replies! The advice is very much appreciated. I'm still struggling though, my floor is not flat under a long run and I just can't get it sorted ;-( Any...

Skirting, mitred, scribed now how do I fit them?

Hi Folks, I'm after some general hints & tips with regard to skirting boards. I removed some from a ground floor some time ago and am about to replace them. I've found all the random angles, mitred a scribed the new ones, however because of the way the old plastering was done there...

    Firewall

personally I would always run both the router and a software firewall, see my comments at the bottom. As suggested elsewhere "sheilds up" at Steve Gibsons site is an excellent way to start. One to watch out for, your router can have you running around in a panic when you fail the tests :lol...

Is there an easier way of upgrading a laptop Hard disk?

Hi, If you've got, or can get Ghost 2003 it has a handy make me a floppy with DVD-writers/USB/Network/firewire drivers etc option, a bit hit and miss, however it's saved me many hours of pain. I backed up my otherhalf's laptop last week via the network boot disk dropped onto my network...

    Bad smells and waste connections.

I appreciate that. I'll try to remember that for next time. I picked up a HepV0 valve today. Thanks for the advice on this one. I'm hoping this will fit, shouldn't be a problem. I need to change the layout a bit and replace the corner knuckle bends with some 92.5 degree bends to get me...

    Bad smells and waste connections.

Gents, found the HepV0, one quick question, on the web site it suggests that I should use one valve at the sink and another and the shower. I had imagined (from your posts) just sticking one close to the soil stack. Is this simply that they want to sell me double the kit? Or should I...

    Bad smells and waste connections.

Hi Paul, thanks for the reply. I'll look up the hepvo, not really sure what that is. I don't think the soil stack has a vent. I'll have to climb around in the loft, but I don't remember seeing one. As far as I am aware, it comes in through the bathroom floor, up three more floors & stops in the...

    Bad smells and waste connections.

Ah OK, thank you, it seems I got some bogus advice about this in the past. I shall visit my local plumbers merchant in the morning. As for erroneously calling it a sink, I was unaware plumber types were so pedantic ;-) Actually I wasn't being erroneous at all. In Northern lad speak it's a sink...
