Thanks for the replies. I did forget to mention that we will at some point be extending into the loft so will have to do something at some point. Looks like it's a big no no for spray foam insulation then.

The issue is they are saying they won't pay out for it as it was only a recommendation to replace the vessel even though the plumber left with water leaking out the top at a good pace.
