Best configuration chain for additional TVs

Yes the splitter from the loft aerial can be situated near the aerial Eric (probably just as well as the signal is most likely weaker on the loft aerial). But I would only gain approx 2 x meters nearer the Roof aerial if I routed the coax under the eves and into the loft to make the split before...

Best configuration chain for additional TVs

Sorry for the late reply, and thanks for all your very kind input. In answer to Lucid's questions about face plate design/configuration...The outlet I was querying at B&Q was just a single F-type skt with "SAT" written above it. It was in a box and there was no view of the back of the unit, I...

Best configuration chain for additional TVs

I bought the splitter today and decided to get a TV outlet Although both feeds are NOT from cable TV or a satellite dish: can I still use a satellite outlet to link to my freeview TV? The guy in B&Q told me it wouldn't work as I needed a decoder? But I have installed an outlet for another set...

Best configuration chain for additional TVs

Yes as you have both stated a £6 splitter could be sufficient, so I suppose it's the sensible thing to do first. Worst scenario, £6 loss. Thanks Winston. Roof aerial - Kept in Room 2 - Passive splitter - Single fly lead to room 2 set - No pixelation or break-ups - Good for other 2xRooms supply...

Best configuration chain for additional TVs

I think I will heed your excellent, informative and extensive advice Lucid and go with boosting the loft aerial to 3xsets. Yes the signal quality should no doubt be better from the roof aerial, but for safety, neatness and cost effectiveness it makes sense to go with the loft aerial option. One...

Best configuration chain for additional TVs

Thank you all for taking the time to reply. I attached the roof aerial when I had some scaffolding up for new roof tiles, it was originally going to supply ground room 4. Then it was easier and safer for myself to just install another aerial in the loft Winston, when I later added another TV...

Best configuration chain for additional TVs

Hi All As you can see I have 2 fixed digital aerials (both the same models) supplying rooms 1 & 2 (Both supporting freeview TVs) In a domestic Victorian style house. Merseyside. I would like to know the best or correct way to extend their feeds to at least one extra TV each (FreeView) or Just...

5.5mm fibreboard for 6mm laminate query

Thanks dazlight, that's what I eventually thought it was referring to. Since putting this post up I asked 2 different floor sales people, one from B&Q and the other from Taskers, both said it was fine to use the 5.5mm underlay with with 6mm laminate, but I don't think they got the grasp of the...

5.5mm fibreboard for 6mm laminate query

Hi Can I use 5.5mm fibreboard over a grooved chipboard sub floor with 6mm laminate flooring? As I think I read somewhere it was not for 6mm or below: I may be wrong? Be great if I could, as I've already bought enough to do a few rooms with 10mm laminate and for the one room above. Thanks Paul

GU10 LED lamp on 12V Driver Transformer possibility

Thanks Rocky. That's eased my mind a lot. As you may be aware that sometimes you have to fiddle with the lamp holder or give it a tap on some finicky holders when they start messing up. Suppose a cheap replacement is the answer, but for some reason you never get round to doing it...

GU10 LED lamp on 12V Driver Transformer possibility

Thanks Eric...Wow! that was a lesson. Looks like the purpose of the 2 different connectors are also a visual to stop any blown lamps in particular if you did have a GU10 type specifically made for use with 12v driver transformer use (without step down circuitry inbuilt) that would blow if...

GU10 LED lamp on 12V Driver Transformer possibility

The site you kindly linked to john is impossible to get to a purchase point. Keeps throwing me to tesco win £500 and other non starters. Do you have another link I could use mate, as my searches for 12v GU10 LED lamp doesn't return anything of use! Sorry to be a pain.

My bad. Apologies John, I presumed that had the built in components, plus my posts are lagging behind. Thanks.
