That has signs of being pointed up before on both the existing crack and to the left on the bricks, it looks a different colour mortar, im not a builder but a diyer.

1st pic is showing roof overhang and black vertical is corner of shed, i am holding gutter out to show overhang, will have to see if gutter is not to far out if i attach brackets to battens or cut cladding around them as alternative.

Roof overhang is 3 inches and roof is covered with Coroline with old felt under.
