Not a major problem, just an irritant really. When the boiler has not been used for a while when there is a demand for CH or DHW the boiler will go to fire up and start whirring away but you can hear that the gas doesnt get lit within the combustion chamber, sometimes after 1 reset it works fine...

it could be, this is a dignosis from your description of the fault, only way to know for sure is to pay a plumber to carry out a fault find. British gas do this for about £150 i think

Hi ppl, My aav has started spitting water, i have a halstead ace combi boiler, i have read the manual and it seems quite easy. The part is only £20. Although i cant get it until tuesday! Just wondering if there is anything i should watch out for or any tips/advice anyone can offer...

ok, will give that a go, do i just bleed the rad's to get the air out of the system?

cheers for the feedback, once the AAV has gone is it gone for good, should i try firing the boiler back up or leave it off till after easter and the part can be replaced?
