Leaking condensate pipe joint - Advice please

Yes it's an ICOS (hence why I've got cover!) The bottom cover has been off a couple of times but it doesn't offer much more (in terms of visibility) than the second image I think D&G saw sense and realised there's a good case for it being covered under either policy so I had a plumber out...

Leaking condensate pipe joint - Advice please

As it runs internally from there (I think - nothing on the outside wall) then I guess it would be a case of knocking a hole in the wall then? And if the self-amalgamating tape worked I guess it just increases the risk of the water backing up into the boiler too

Leaking condensate pipe joint - Advice please

Thanks for the replies guys. One quick question (not ignoring the fact Dan has already said it would be a ball ache), given what you can see in the pictures, would you expect it to be possible to replace anything in the way of the pipe working with just the exposed part or is there not enough...

Leaking condensate pipe joint - Advice please

Hi, I would be grateful for some advice on the following problem. The condensate pipe from my boiler is currently dripping whenever the boiler is running. On investigation the leak appears to be coming from a joint in the part of the pipe which runs from the boiler to the wall See the...

    Europlug options

Brilliant. Got it. So in a nutshell, fuse choice needs to be as low as possible but still high enough to cover the current drawn (as indicated by the input on my power supply etc) and definitely no higher than the maximum supported by the cable. Too low and it (the fuse) will keep...

    Europlug options

Yes. On one side of the power "block" there is a short length of cable which has a socket that the 12v car lead (cigarette lighter plug) plugs in to. I am leaving that totally untouched. Coming out of the other side of the power block is a longer length of cable which runs to a europlug. I...

    Europlug options

Thanks a lot Adam I'll use a 3A plug as advised. Is my understanding about the 2 wires and no earth correct?

    Europlug options

Hi, I've got what will hopefully be a simple question and would like some advice please. I have an electrice coolbox which I can use in the car with the 12v lead it came with. It also came with an ac/dc converter which has a socket for the 12v car lead and a europlug on the other end. I...

Boiler Repair - Opinion on options available

Thanks. As I said, I know about the reliability of the boiler and also that a maintainance contract may be a good idea for it...I'll keep that in mind for future However, I'm really looking for some opinions on the current repair needed and the best option available

Boiler Repair - Opinion on options available

Hi, I've got an Ideal Icos HE12 boiler which is showing no sign of life (it did temporarily have an LF display last week which went away after a reset so may or may not be related). Obvious things checked such as fuse but nothing more technical than that. I did have a look inside and...

    Outdoor socket from existing spur

Thanks for your help. That gives me some stuff to think about and see if I can find another solution or a different place to spur from within the actual house. I understand what you are saying about the "plug in" solution and that's how I would expect it. My comparison with the plug in...

    Outdoor socket from existing spur

Thanks for the reply. As I said, running a new circuit from the CU is probably going to be too much (CU other side of house with multiple rooms inbetween and for the other reasons specified anything involving extensive ripping apart of the house is not going to be feasible just to achieve an...

    Outdoor socket from existing spur

There are two switches marked up as "Sockets" on the board. Switching just these two off results in the power to the garage socket being lost. There's nothing else on the board relating to the garage

    Outdoor socket from existing spur

Hi, Just wanted some advice please. I would like to install an outside socket from my garage. I've got a masterseal double socket and a wall mounted RCD. I was planning for it to just spur from the existing double socket in the garage, straight into the RCD unit and then out through the...
