    Can I use something that dries quicker than putty?

    I'm planning to paint my window frames (photo). Do I need to use putty here, or can I use something that dries quicker (such as decorators’ caulk, 2 part wood filler, some other kind of filler)? The gap to be filled is about 2mm Many thanks.

    The outflow of my Sanishower is leaking at the point shown in the photo. If I understand it correctly, the lower part is a non-return valve and the upper (black) part is a connector (maybe needed because the pipe widths are different?). I guess I will need to remove the whole thing and replace...
