Cracks in new plaster after 2 months?

Hello everyone, In late September, I had my hallway, landing, and stairs skimmed. Despite choosing the most expensive quote and the contractor being recommended by a family friend, I've been told by several people on several online forums that the job wasn't done well (including here, so see my...

Skim job - Am I justified in asking a plasterer to come back?

To give a much-delayed update: The decorator tried blaming absolutely everything under the sun and then started having a go at me. He then did the Kitchen which was supposedly 3 coats of Lick Pro Green 02 in one day (when it's 4-6 hours drying time in between coats). It looks like it was...

EPH Controls to Drayton Wiser Wiring -

So some boilers need that link between L and 1 (using the Drayton as a example) and because mine doesn't have it in the EPH there's a likely chance I would have fried my boiler if I had done it. I can see why sometimes you need the professionals here... Ah gotcha, I was thinking what does the...

EPH Controls to Drayton Wiser Wiring -

I appreciate the response here. So the dashed line doesn't indicate connecting them via a switch wire? On reflection, I'm a silly ******* the instructions say: "One channel only: Note that the output contacts are voltage-free*, so power needs to be put on to Terminal 1 either by linking from...

EPH Controls to Drayton Wiser Wiring -

Evening all, I've just bought a Drayton Wiser Kit 1 to replace my EPH Controls (RF1A-OT) and just want to clear something up with the wiring. Here is the current wiring setup: And here are the instructions for the Drayton Wiser Kit 1 (Combi Potterton boiler) Am I missing anything from the...

    Acceptable Finish - Professional Decorator

The wall was indeed bare plaster after a reskim. I had a few issues with the skim coat but kept the decorator up to date at all avenues, asked him to look at the job again before starting, made it completely clear it was a full prep and decoration too.

    Acceptable Finish - Professional Decorator

I did this morning, this is after the initial issues were pointed out. They've wiped their hands of it now so it's onto me to sort or find someone to sort

Skim job - Am I justified in asking a plasterer to come back?

Just been down after the decorator has left and I'm really not happy but at a complete impasse with it now as this is after they've gone 'back over it' and weren't happy that I found some bits for them to sort this morning (even though being paid a day rate)... Any ideas how i can fix these myself?

    Acceptable Finish - Professional Decorator

Just been down after the decorator has left, and we're at an impasse now after their reaction this morning... The below photos are after it's gone back over (LickPro White 01 paint). Does anyone have any help in terms of how I can rectify the roller marks myself? It looks like they've loaded...

Skim job - Am I justified in asking a plasterer to come back?

Just saw the edit, yeah I'm not gonna lie I thought as much... Honestly I'm being made to feel like I'm a perfectionist, dumb **** by some of these people. There are some super thick brush marks around switches and was told "that's what you get, brush and roll" (FYI switches have been pulled out...

Skim job - Am I justified in asking a plasterer to come back?

I've had a recommendation from the chippies I used so when I eventually get the bedroom sorted next year I'll be giving them a go, and looking for a new decorator as well... (or doing it myself)

Skim job - Am I justified in asking a plasterer to come back?

Yeah, I read a few things about the standard Lick paint so I opted for the Pro version which they'd said they had used with no issues... If they'd pushed for a Dulux trade due to poor performance I would have gone that way. But the lack of prep and excess stipple and drip doesn't excuse that in...

Skim job - Am I justified in asking a plasterer to come back?

Ngl this has all taught me a lesson in using word-of-mouth recommendations, especially from family... And a lesson in just trying a lot of things myself from now on... I know I can be a bit of a perfectionist but didn't think this was the finish of a professional decorator. Been on the tools...

Skim job - Am I justified in asking a plasterer to come back?

Got them back out and they just sanded (with no dust bag) and left the place a state with my lungs taking most of it. Was coughing up **** for weeks. The decorator has been around and it's honestly not the best, decorator didn't do much prep either which has left a pretty crap finish on a lot...

    Acceptable Finish - Professional Decorator

Morning all, Just want to see if I'm being overtly picky or if this is an acceptable finish by a professional decorator. I feel the level of prep was definitely not enough and there's excess paint and large amount of stipple on the overall finish. There are large parts that are great, but parts...
