    Is this safe?

Hi guys, Just ripped out some old wardrobes and there is wiring for 2 spotlights that was never used. I don’t plan to use them so is it safe to leave them like this? Is there a better way to terminate them? Thanks

Is my Vaillant wiring centre (VR66) wired ok?

Thanks so much Scottish. Really appreciate your expertise. I attach a picture of the wiring centre and the wiring diagram in the manual. There is only one cable going from the boiler to the wiring centre so looks like it is wired wrongly? The reason why I’m looking into this is because my...

Is my Vaillant wiring centre (VR66) wired ok?

Thanks very much for your reply. Herts Boilers didn’t commission it - Herts Boilers have only serviced it (and done an absolutely brilliant job each time!)

Is my Vaillant wiring centre (VR66) wired ok?

Hi all, I was looking at my wiring centre today and noticed that the power supply seems to run directly from the boiler (the second white wire is the power to the VR66) Looking at the manual it says the VR66 needs a ‘permanent’ power supply. Is what the plumber done ok?

I have the VR66 and looked into getting a Hive. Looking at the Hive website it says that it isn't compatible with the VR65 (which is the same as the VR66 really) and was told I would need to completely decommission the wiring centre and start again

Is my wall about to collapse?

Thank you for looking and responding. I’m tempted to dig under that exposed concrete part and tap the wall back into place. Not sure whether to just leave it be or not.

Is my wall about to collapse?

Yes the title is a bit dramatic but it was intended to grab your attention! I have recently noticed a crack in my garden wall. Hopefully the pics are good enough for you to see. It looks like the foundation has risen up and it has pushed the brickwork out of alignment. It wasn’t like this when...

    Rewiring switch to ‘always on’

Thanks very much for replying. Could you kindly make some suggestions for me to correct the issue? Better to correct the issue first and then achieve the goal of my original post second!

    Rewiring switch to ‘always on’

I’m hoping for some electrical advice. I’m happy to turn my hand to most things but I always like to check anything to do with electrics! I have two 2-way switches in my kitchen (switch 1) and in my lounge (switch 2). I would like to wire switch 1 so that my outside lights are always on so I...

    Lost Jewellery / Washing Machine

Hi guys, My wife has lost her engagement and wedding rings and we think they may have gone in the washing machine. It is a Bosch washing machine. I have checked around the door seal and in the coin trap/filter (located at the front by the bottom) with no luck. Has anyone got any other ideas...

    Death of democracy

Haha. Okay mate. Do you think shouting your mouth off is a sensible and mature way to behave when someone asks you to evidence incorrect statements you're making? Let's say someone did a job for you and quoted £1000. He then put a bill in for £2000 at the end of the job explaining that he...
