Grundfos UPS3 Remove Impeller from Pump Casing

Yes, there is one installed on the hot water return side but not on the central heating side. I plan to get the powerflushing done and then follow up with installing a filter on the central heating return side as well. (y)

Grundfos UPS3 Remove Impeller from Pump Casing

Hi All Hopefully a simple question to answer from those experienced. On opening my Grundfos UPS3 pump, the impeller section seems to be firmly set in the body casing section of the pump. I wanted to see if I can remove it to fit a powerflush pump head to undertake powerflushing on the system at...

Gabion Retaining Wall - Planning Permission Required?

Hello - Yes, we are planning on building up the bit of garden between the fence and the current waist height wall. That wall will be removed as part of the building and the plan was for the bricks to be recovered and used in the gabions. - The train tracks are indeed behind the fence and trees...

Gabion Retaining Wall - Planning Permission Required?

Hello Thank you for your advice. I have now uploaded some photos of the dug out trench for the foundation. Hope these help clarify it further. We bought this property last year and the garden needs doing, so getting it even and flat is our foremost priority but we were a bit worried that we...

Gabion Retaining Wall - Planning Permission Required?

Hi All Seeking some guidance here. Our garden is split across 2 levels, one at house level and one about a metre below. That section is approximately 3-4m by 20m. I am considering using gabions as a gravity retaining wall. We have dug a foundation 0.5m deep and 1m wide along the entire...

    Would this work need certifying?

Thanks chappers and PrenticeBoyofDerry Yes, I am well aware of the problem I am in now. I will get in touch with the builder again to see how he can help sort this out. Failing which I will speak to the building control inspector who approved the work. Thanks again for all who've responded!

    Would this work need certifying?

PrenticeBoyofDerry Yes, thats exactly what I want documented formally by a certified electrician, whether from my builder or elsewhere. Taylortwocities Are you suggesting that I only need the certificate for my keeping (to show that the work was done to standards) and that it does not...

    Would this work need certifying?

PrenticeBoyofDerry Thanks. I just updated my previous response while you submitted yours. Another problem that I have is that the NICEIC certificate does not have any mention of the new RCD switch added onto the mains board by the new electrician. So it would easily appear to have been done...

    Would this work need certifying?

Sorry guys, I didn't expect so many responses so soon. PrenticeBoyofDerry, the work done later was not notified as these were identified as defects at a later stage. I pointed out to the builder that the new electrical setup/wiring didn't migrate the outside light connections and so on...

    Would this work need certifying?

riveralt Thanks! I did received a building control notification from NICEIC some days ago. The new electrician did test and demonstrate working of the new installations, but he didn't give me any additional EIC suggesting that the work didn't need any. Well now I know! Guess the...

    Would this work need certifying?

PrenticeBoyofDerry Thanks! The only reason I went on with this was 'coz my builder indicated that this does not need any certifying and that the original electrician (who submitted the certificate) was too busy (or may have raised his price) for the work. This was the reason that he got someone...

    Would this work need certifying?

Thanks dingbat! Just to update this thread, I have been supplied with a "Domestic Electrical Installation Certificate" from NICEIC by my electrician. This is what i meant by the certificate. Apologies for mixing terms there. This has been supplied to the council already. Would the additional...

    Would this work need certifying?

All We have recently completed a side extension to our house. As part of that we had new electrics fitted onto the new build. I have the Part P certificate from the electrician for that. However the electrician did not migrate all electrical connections to the new main switchboard...
