    Hot water in F&E tank

Just found the installation manual for the boiler which say "Do not connect this boiler to a sealed water system" hmm

    Hot water in F&E tank

I have had a look for where the expansion is plumbed in compared to where the cold feed is. The cold feed is between the boiler and pump just below the pump. The expansion is - well not plumbed in there in fact I can't find where it's plumbed in! - might be halfway along the flow...

    Hot water in F&E tank

Got a bit of a problem. Most of my radiators are no longer getting any heat in them - just the first few after the boiler but the expansion pipe is putting lots of hot water into the F&E tank - and of course down the cold feed and back into the system. Now the rads after the first few...

New board and TT to PME Change

Something that I thought was odd - the supply to my house comes from next doors meter cupboard - and there is only one line coming over to both our houses - everyone else around our way seems to get a line per house. Or is that all normal?

New board and TT to PME Change

Thanks for all the advice guys. So what I'm taking away here is PME is better than TT. The cheapest guy who's said he'll change to PME will have to part P the whole house in any case. I guess I can trust him as he's NICEIC (?) The only bit I don't understand is his written quote...

New board and TT to PME Change

If I got the image thing right Here is the supply And here is the Consumer unit I think I gave the wrong impression about what one spark said. 1st spark says yes to bonding and changing to PME will provide part P 2nd spark says needs to keep to TT as...

New board and TT to PME Change

I need a new consumer board and I've had a few quotes for the work but I'm getting really confused. The local elec co. did one of those free inspections. The guy was around for some time and condemed the existing consumer board and also found no bonding and couldn't even locate the earth...

Is the pump gone or is it sludge?

Nah not microbore, just quite old Good question - probably not is the answer - i'm thinking they are about £100 for a Magnaclean? - not with having to replace the pump and I need to replace my shower as well - it's an Aquadart Hyrdoflow which was a venturi :!: appareantly.

Is the pump gone or is it sludge?

Ta for all the info everyone - my Farther-in-law is around at the moment and he's keen that we try and flush the system prior to replacing the pump. He's suggesting that we take the downstairs radiators off and take em outside for a flush (at least there are no carpets downstairs) then try...

Is the pump gone or is it sludge?

Will it have to be another Grundfos or will other pumps fit the gap?

Ah well a text messge from home tells me that the pump just "made a funny noise and stopped going around" So I guess a lunchtime trip to buy a new pump is on. Now I just need to get a replacment for a Grundfos UPS 15-50 from somwhere in Guildford

Is the pump gone or is it sludge?

I guess that's what I was driving at how can I tell the the impeller is still working and not just the rota? So next dumb question what is a Magnaclean device?

Is the pump gone or is it sludge?

We're going to try closing all the radiators off to make sure the flow are fully activated then open up one radiator at a time to see if this will clear anything. What's the difference between rust deposits and sludge? Any other suggestions. If it's sludge/rust deposits whats the remedy...

Is the pump gone or is it sludge?

After a bit of advice here please. I've just fitted a towel rail in the bathroom.javascript:emoticon(':D') Very Happy Now when I switch the heating on I get roasting hot radiators upstairs on the first two radiators from the boiler. The next two along upstairs are warm going but cooler...
