He may well have said to you not to worry about informing the DNO as he has every intention of doing the prefered method (by my dno anyway) as I have stated above. He will deal directly with the DNO on your behalf.

Something that I thought was odd - the supply to my house comes from next doors meter cupboard - and there is only one line coming over to both our houses - everyone else around our way seems to get a line per house.
