    Regulating Hot Water Temperature

I'm about to fit a new power shower and I'm concerned about the pump I've bought having an auto-cut-out if the hot water exceeds 65degrees...because I'm pretty sure my HW supply is hotter than that. I have a pretty cruddy old CH/HW system with a conventional gas boiler (on the ground floor)...

    Garden fence.

sorry, should have been clearer - I meant when you are putting up a featherboard fence with the 'structural' stuff being the arris rails and brackets between the posts. Much as I'd love the simplicity of panels my boundary is littered with trees/walls/etc that i have to work around.

    Garden fence.

Apologies for rehashing a post that is over a year old but I was looking for information on this subject and thought it might be of interest to people still. Found a couple of good websites with info on this: here here The interesting bits being: and: So it seems that there...

    Opinions on Boiler Types

Ok, first up, apologies if this question is asked a lot but I had a quick search and couldn't find a recent one so here goes... I live in a 4-bed, 1 bathroom(bath and shower) town-house set out on 3 floors and I need to replace the boiler but don't really know which type to go for so I'm...

    Under Floor Heating?

Right, before I start I'm no expert! but this is what i've picked up from a few articles: water pipes seem to be preferred in terms of efficiency and durability but for one small room a simple electric system is probably cheaper, quicker and easier to install.

    2xFused Switches??

Can anyone tell me why you can buy a double plug socket to attach to a ring main, which can accept two fused plugs, and you can buy single fused switches to attach to the ring main; but I cant find a double fused/unfused switch to add to a ring main. Basically I have added a spur to my...

    A sticky lighting problem

That would make sense as the house is wired through plastic conduit - thanks.

    A sticky lighting problem

I wondered the same about the insulating tape theory but the sticky stuff can be found on the cables in the switches, roses and junction boxes - and there seems to be too much of it to have come from tape (I found two reasonable sized blobs of it on top of one ceiling rose). Thanks for the...

    A sticky lighting problem

I've recently moved into a house built in 1969. I'm fairly competent around the house with electrics and plumbing and stuff but recently came across something that has me stumped. I have a standard 2-way switched hallway light that can be operated by either one of two single switches at...
