Thanks for this explanation.
I've managed to salvage 2 of the rooms and loop the cables as they were wired but unfortunately the plasterer has plastered over the my work with only the single cable and NO loop. The only saving grace is that it's in the dining room and I don't expect there'll be...
I'm renovating old property which was rewired 15 years ago and have noticed cable looping back on itself between sockets in the same rooms.
For example, in the lounge 2 live 3 core cables enter the room and 1 of them is wired into a double surface mounted socket (socket 1). The other cable goes...
We're in a 6 storey apartment block on the first floor. The pump house / room is directly below us and the noise is very irritating.
It starts with the pump running for around 10 seconds followed by what sounds like a heavy relay clicking off. This continues periodically during the day and...
I've a 5 year old gas heating system which I have to pressurise every few months and which I'm assuming has a very small leak somewhere.
I've searched but can't find it. Someone told me I could add some sort of sealant which may cure it. Can I ask for advice please.
I should actually call them 'downlights' and not 'spotlights' to be correct. It's an apartment which we own.
However most of the replies to my question do not focus on how to conceal the connector / terminal blocks or even suggest an alternative on how a professional would have done this. It...
It's actually in an apartment block and there is around 3" gap above the ceiling so it was relatively easy to fish the cable from unit to unit.
I was hoping for an alternative method rather than removing the wood the roses are screwed to as this will involve cutting out a section of the ceiling...
Actually it's more like these - I was going to use terminal blocks and break them off individually and then try to push them up into the plaster but it's really tight. I was then going to use a blank to cover them.
I'm fitting spots in all the rooms and after installing them, have tested them by wiring into the ceiling rose switch and neutral side.
The problem now is that I want to remove the ceiling rose. I've done so in the first room by disconnecting the rose and putting them into 4 seperate terminal...
Can I ask for help in identifying this type of double glazed window handle please.
I need to find a replacement but nobody seems to know the type. It was riveted onto the window frame of a 20 years old apartment block.
The problem with kits is that I can't get one big enough.
The driveway is around 40 metre long on either side and I thought that 1 small LED every metre was reasonable.
I was thinking of embedding them into the brick at the edge of the drive.
