    Wall Heater on 13A Plug

Hi - have a 1kw (might be less) wall mounted heater that's using a 13A plug. Is this acceptable according to the regulations? Or should it be on an FCU. P.S. we are selling - so looking for things that might get picked up.

Bosch Dishwasher Part Identication (Leak/RCD tripped).

So further dismantling make it look like it's the join between the base and the side/rear panels (the top of the weight is also covered in the yellow fatty stuff). So as you say main body joins. Both back and side plastic seems to be bowing out with the gap contains fatty muck. Time for a new...

Bosch Dishwasher Part Identication (Leak/RCD tripped).

Hmm - found it here. https://www.mamlux.eu/spare-parts-bosch/spare-parts-dishwashers-bosch/spare-parts-dishwasher-bosch-sms53l18eu34/weight---c-05262018-05-15-06-05-271745616045-detail Described as "Weight" so a counterweight for the door! So looks like it's not that that's leaking but...

Bosch Dishwasher Part Identication (Leak/RCD tripped).

Nope - salt is front left. This black thing goes right across the back (so is behind the salt on the left side - although on that side it's clean and dry not wearing).

Bosch Dishwasher Part Identication (Leak/RCD tripped).

My daughter reported an E15 error - popped down to have a look and it seemed ok and started a quick cycle but tripped the RCD after 5 mins (they did report a trip a few days ago but reset it and nothing happens since). Took front panel etc off and can see some water in the base. Everything at...

    Re-roof cost ball park

Looking at replacing the roof on a church hall. Building is 12m * 8m, ridge lengthways and I count 25 rows of tiles each side (steeper pitch than average house). Need a full strip, felt, batten, tile (new), ridge and flashing to the front gable. Scaffold as a two storey house. Anyone any ideas...

3 port Y value failure diagnosis - do you agree?

No dimple on the cover - just a label that give differential pressures for 1"/28mm and 3/4"/22mm. Head seems to be doing all the right things - so must come down to the body. Off to screwfix it is then. Question now is - genuine Honeywell @£112 or Drayton @ £75 - or take punt on a Hortsman...

3 port Y value failure diagnosis - do you agree?

Hmm - loosened two of the screws that hold the valve head - water started dripping out, screwed back up quickly. I guess that suggests the seals have gone on the body? P.S. Didn't say earlier we are talking a 30 year old valve here.

3 port Y value failure diagnosis - do you agree?

Honeywell Sundial - has 4 screws that look they hold the head to the valve body will check and try it with the head off.

3 port Y value failure diagnosis - do you agree?

Hi all I think our 3 port value is defunct - just want to check I'm not missing anything. I've been thinking that the heating is taking longer to warm the house up in the mornings, also SWMBO commented that the water was very hot. Made me suspicious that the valve was not going all the...

Larger than average ceiling roses - where to find

Doing up a house for my daughter - have unscrewed the covers off the roses in order to decorate - thinking I'll replace some of them later as they are yellowed or covered in paint (where the previous owners hadn't thought to unscrew them). Now we are nearly finished I've realised the roses...

    Dirty socket box internals

Was busy sorting that while you were replying :-)

    Dirty socket box internals

Was quite suprised at the state of this (house is 25 years old). Thick layer of dust and muck over everything inside the box (in addition to the couple of bits of plaster that fell in when I pulled it forward). Was wondering how much of a hazard that much dust is.

Electric rangemaster tripping electric - what size mcb?

We have that model (for about 15 years) - SWMBO will quite often have everything running apart from the grill and griddle. Never had the MCB trip - it's on a 32A Contactum! Tripped the RCD just before one of the oven elements went - and once when some moisture must have got into plates (by...
