    Walk in shower

Thanks for the replies. The boiler is a Worcester Greenstar 30Si This is from the instruction manual ...... 'Domestic hot water specific rate - 30 degrees C rise 14.3 l/min ' 'Max. domestic hot water flow rate - 40 degrees C rise +/- 15% 10.8 l/min ' I tested the output from our cold tap -...

    Walk in shower

Hi all, I'm returning to this thread, as my plumber has been to measure for the shower with a view to giving me a quotation. He's neutral as to whether a Salamander pump would help, he takes a view similar to Stem ( above ), that it all depends on the output capacity of the Worcester boiler...

    Walk in shower

Thanks. I've just measured the amount of hot water that my boiler can deliver; 10 Litres per minute. I don't think an extra 2 litres per minute would justify a pump. Looks like I'll have to get used to one spray head at a time! Thanks, Stu.

    Walk in shower

I’m having a walk in shower fitted. I’m only at the design stage and would welcome some advice. I want a fixed showed head plus a hand held flexible spray. I’ve been told that only one will work at a time i.e. turn on the hand held and the water is diverted from the spray head ( which makes...

    17th IEEE

Hi. This is hard wired. The CCU is 3m away from the cooker. This is the 3rd cooker we've had in this position. Previous installers had no problems with it. Now if I were installing it in another room or even hidden away, then OK it wouldn't be right. It's in line of sight with the cooker, just...

    17th IEEE

On delivery of a new cooker plus connection, I was told it could not be connected as the cooker socket was more than 2 metres away. I protested that this was wrong ( I have a 15th IEEE certificate from years ago, so I have a working knowledge of the regs), I maintained that any wiring...

    P.V.C. Cladding

I've been told that PVC Cladding is a better alternative to tiling. I'm a bit sceptical. Are there any drawbacks? All help appreciated. I've been looking here .............. http://www.pvc-cladding.com/

    MV lamp

I'm trying to find the components to run a 50watt Mercury Vapor light. It's just a bulb with an ES27 fitting. Sited in a batten type holder. I need a Ballast, but will I also need an ignitor and a capacitor? I think some bulbs may have these fitted internally. Can anyone point me in the...

    Filament type tube

I'm trying to mend my M.I.L's bedside light. I thought it would be a flourecent tube. Instead, it's a 7 inch glass tube with a filament in. I wonder if they still make them? The overall length is just over 8 inches. It has 7 inches of glass and is a bit under one inch in diameter. It's 230/250...

Everything has to be 13 Amp??!!

Thanks for all the replies. I only achieved a 15th Edition Certificate. I'm retired now, but am aware that when someone who's 'near to the trade', gets involved, then you guys have trouble! I've had complete Dickeheads lecture me on Electrical Regulation, when knowing nothing about...

Everything has to be 13 Amp??!!

Refering to my original post; the fire safety officer arrived today for the inspection. He was quite reasonable! He said that they 'didn't like' 3 way mains adaptors', but approved 4 gang extension leads. We had 2 adaptors, but he never tried to ban them or say anything silly about them...

Everything has to be 13 Amp??!!

My mother in Law (90 y.o.) is coming to live with us. A Support Worker has been to assess the various safety issues etc. She said she would arrange for a Fire Brigade Officer to come and look for any fire risk etc. One thing she said, ( which I kept quiet about ( as it just has to be wrong))...
