I'm trying to mend my M.I.L's bedside light. I thought it would be a flourecent tube. Instead, it's a 7 inch glass tube with a filament in. I wonder if they still make them?
The overall length is just over 8 inches. It has 7 inches of glass and is a bit under one inch in diameter. It's 230/250 volts 30 Watts.
can anyone help, what are they called and where do I get one?

Search Google for tubular lamp.
I would advise you replace the fitting for a fluorescent type though. These are very inefficient and get really hot.
