Should I buy Sliding mirror doors?

I am looking to buy sliding mirror doors from http://www.mirrordoors.co.uk/ The price is approximately £500 for 3 doors which are 1m x 2.4m each. I am a little apprehensive as 1) Cost seems high? 2) The mirrors are only 4mm thick! 3) I have kids! Do people have experience of...

    Mains or lighting ring?? ?

Thanks. 1) I had heard it was "bad wiring" (and were not allowed) to link to internal lights, but sounds like its more convenience related. Sounds like its better to have it separate in any case. 2) Is the delay the same as with with the internal CFL lights? Whilst slightly...

    Mains or lighting ring?? ?

i know this is an old thread but its relevant for my question. I am having my house re-wired and just wanted to check what the pros and cons of having a seprate circuit for extrenal lighting were? I am planning to install two external floodlights (potentially with motion sensors). My...

    The great GU10, Halogen/CFL/L.E.D/ debate

    1) thanks 2) appears to suggest insulation should be any insulation... I am just going to take out the insulation from that panel in the ceiling. Do you think that will be ok? http://www.free-instruction-manuals.com/pdf/p4734501.pdf 3) How important is this? I was going to make a...

    The great GU10, Halogen/CFL/L.E.D/ debate

I think if I could I would buy commercial downlights - rather than spot lights. An 18W commercial downlights gives about 100W (I think) of light. One or two of these in a room should provide plenty of light. Unfortunately my wiring is done so I am stuck with spot lights. Think I will go...

Can I use commercial downlights at home?

Ta. The room is in a loft conversion and is about 4m by 3m. Will I need to put in a fire hood around the light? Or any other special fittings? This is the light I am thinking about...

Can I use commercial downlights at home?

about 8 inches.... Is that enough space? There is also insulation in that space... which I will have to move away. But it sounds easier to move insulation for four of these than where 12 spotlights are!

Can I use commercial downlights at home?

Ta.. Do you need any special... eg "1 foot space" or "special connections" or "fire hood" for something like this? http://www.screwfix.com/p/1-x-26w-hf-low-energy-downlight/89927;jsessionid=KWWfTLWhpyXPnpZKFTKW8CTpYLKDqTTcyY5CQkm2ZgYhCpD1Tbzj!1209078788 I would be fitting 2-4 it in a...

    Spot light help for newbie

Not sure this would work.. wall lights wont illuminate the room. And sockets with portable lights also sounds like a big compromise.... Are LEDs any good these days? Better than CFL? i'm less fussed about the light, more about fire risk.
