Desperate housewife! Noisy central heating/boiler issue.

Hi Alec_t, I think the pump on the boiler is a fixed speed pump.

Thanks picasso, I'm not familiar with that component but it's worth checking out.

Desperate housewife! Noisy central heating/boiler issue.

Thanks. I will check the TRV valve later but, the radiator that it's been moved to is not noisy nor is the pipework going to it. The system was not balanced after installing the towel radiator.

Desperate housewife! Noisy central heating/boiler issue.

We have a Worcester Bosch Greenstar 24i Junior boiler, which is in the kitchen. It is 8 yrs old. It had an external expansion tank fitted, due to access problems, about 3 years ago and worked fine after that. Earlier this year it was serviced and the expansion vessel was recharged, the...

Why does my DIY extension lead trip the circuit breaker?

Thanks all, you've been very kind about my obvious mistake. My extension is now wired correctly and working. I knew the problem was probably something simple....just didn't realise that the something simple was me! I won't let it put me off a bit of DIY but, don't worry, I have a healthy respect...

Why does my DIY extension lead trip the circuit breaker?

Yes, (hangs head in shame) that is what I did, N and E reversed. I'd rather just move on now and never speak of this again as I'm feeling rather embarassed and foolish about the whole thing! As soon as I turned the socket round and looked at it the' 'right' way up I could see the problem...doh...

Why does my DIY extension lead trip the circuit breaker?

Thanks EFLImpudence, so it is. Now I'm looking at it the right way round I can see exactly where I've gone wrong with my wiring. It's obvious really and I'm an idiot! Problem solved. Thanks all.

Why does my DIY extension lead trip the circuit breaker?

Thanks John, sorry Sunray for being a bit touchy. I will check all the wiring again. One thing that puzzles me is why the Live and Neutral wires are reversed in the trailing socket. Blue on the right and brown on the left. I did triple check this but the instructions were very clear and a...

Why does my DIY extension lead trip the circuit breaker?

Thanks Sunray. All of the components of my extension lead are brand spanking new. I may not be a qualified electrician and I certainly wouldn't attempt anything too taxing but I do know how to wire a plug. I'm pretty handy at DIY too. Last week I repaired a doorstep with cement that I mixed...

Why does my DIY extension lead trip the circuit breaker?

Thanks for your quick response! It's the RCD that trips and It happens as soon as the lamp is turned on. nothing else affects the RCD.

Why does my DIY extension lead trip the circuit breaker?

I made a 1 gang extension lead to plug a single lamp into but it keeps tripping the circuit breaker, why? I have a 13 amp plug, 5 metres of 3 core cable and a 1 gang socket. Into that I plug (3amp plug) a small lamp. It's not the lamp as I have tried a second lamp and that does the same. Both...

    Electric and Gas Inspection

I have had a lot of renovation work done on my building. There are definite problems with the electrics, which my project manager and the contractor assure me will be corrected, however I have lost all confidence in both of them and would like an independent inspection of the plumbing and...

The condensate pipes are external and quite thin. I think I need some expert help here and will get it all inspected.
