We have a Vokera Compact combi boiler, about 5 years old. Today the tap hot water is, at best, tepid, rather than scorching hot as normal. Turned up the dial on the boiler for water temp, with no difference. Boiler "fires" as normal, within a second or so of the tap being turned the ignition...

during a spate of badly planned DIY our 2 way kitchen lightswitches were replaced, and the wiring was messed up. At some point the wiring has been spliced, so the colours don't carry through the whole circuit..probably not helping, and certainly making the circuit diagrams seem redundant :(...

no answers, but follow up for anyone else with the same issue. I replaced the cartridge, which stopped the permanently running problem, and then showed a new one, the shower now leaks from the "tap" when on. I figure this is probably the gasket, which looks perfext but at nearly 20 years old...

I have used search, and hopefully I'm halfway to an answer :) My parents have a mira 415, no idea of its age. They popped off to Spain for winter (benefits of being retired) and their new condenser boiler broke down (pipe outside frozen), which allowed the house to cool down, and freeze...

...erm...it is now :D Thanks for the help - I now have a working shower :D I've removed the stop from the showerhead so hopefully it can't happen again.. ...now to keep an eye on ebay for another 'spare'

OK. Solenoid valve swapped over...I now have running water through my shower :) ...but it's very hot...and turning it down doesn't seem to make any difference...so what else is likely to be broken :(

Thanks, TicklyT. gonna go have a look now....hopefully swopping the valve (which i think you're suggesting) will be within my ability :D had a look - removed the valve from the old unit - not gotta turn off the water and have a go at swapping over :D

Hi. I have a gainsborough energy 2000x shower which has been working great up until around 20 minutes ago :( The shower head has an on/off switch (prevent dripping) and was in the off position...my daughter went for a shower...it didn't work..so she tried repeatedly until it stopped making...

done it now, thanks. bit of continuity testing and trial and error to get everything to work as it should (down-on)

absolutely right, shielding only just comes into the backplate, tried taking a photo, camera's doing a very bad job. i have discovered that wrapping post-it-note sticky round the cable and labelling isn't a long term solution, as all the labels have fallen off.no £ to pay a sparky, so i'm gonna...

not sorted mine out yet, need the light and if it all goes wrong... that diagram shows 8 wires, i have just 5 2 appear permament live (multimeter for xmas), one of which is, i guess, the common (single) should i branch (spur?) across from this common to the other?
