    Power Flush advice

    Power Flush advice

I understand about the system drain offs. I have 3 rad drain off points. So all sorted there. Not sure if they are on the flow or return though. Just to clarify, when I force water through the system from the boiler water feed I shut off all rads and open one and clean them out one at a...

    Power Flush advice

Thanks Madrab. I have added x400 today and will run it for a few weeks. Draining down is obv easy to do, but I have not flushed my system before. How do I do this ? And how do you do it on the flow and then return? Do I leave the hose drain off on the last rad and then run the cold feed in...

    Power Flush advice

Spoke to my engineer and he said to open the zone valves so the UFH system just becomes part of the heating system. So I will just treat the UFH as if it's a rad and zone off all the rads when I come to clean out the UFH part. Sounds easier.

Oh, I see. Got you. Do I need to drain it down before taking the pump off, or can you just remove it and all ok ?

    Power Flush advice

I would rather connect through the rad in the living room where I have the washing machine connection to fill up plus dumping water is easy. Boiler is top of house. Does no one know how I connect onto my UFH manifold?

It is an option but just a lot more work. There are 13 rads plus UFH Any idea on how I connect in to the UFH manifold?

    Power Flush advice

I am going to hire the fernox power flush machine from my local plumbers merchant. I have used it before, but a few years ago. I took off a rad and attached the hoses to the two valves from this rad to connect into the system. I can do the same again, but wondered if I can attach somewhere...

    Diverted valve dripping

I decided to try a new DV. The one in place cannot come out due to a stiff screw. This was the case a year and a bit ago when the engineer swapped the DV then. One screw was super tight. So it looks like he got it back in but the DV is not happy and maybe is slightly out of alignment...

    Car park bump

I’m not claiming as the xs is prob about the cost anyway. Prob will get one online. The body work has been massaged as well but not bothered about that. Mot is not till next may so I suppose I have time. Do council car parks run cctv and help you out if requested? I doubt it. I’m...

    Car park bump

Someone has reversed into our rear light. It is now cracked and has a hole in the plastic cover. I think this is a mot fail. We don’t know who did I it and think it was done while in the car park. I am reluctant to claim on insurance. We don’t have any cctv on our car. So I suppose I...

    Diverted valve dripping

the diverter was changed a year ago and now it is leaking. its 18 yo and I have a constant pressure drop on the boiler which I cannot solve. Been going on for over 2 yrs. I cannot find any leak on the system. Every 2/3 weeks I need to top up half a bar generally. I swapped out the expansion...

    Diverted valve dripping

It was a proper vaillant unit with the full brass body replaced. My system is clean and has a magna pro 2 filter on it. Boiler is 18 yo so I think I am now just going to replace

    Diverted valve dripping

My vaillant combi has a leak and I have just spotted where it is dripping from. The drip is on the brass body of the diverter valve. Not sure why this should be leaking again as a new valve was fitted in January 2025, so just over a year ago. Any idea why it might fail again? The boiler...
