Before you ask, yes it is safe to have a plug socket and a light switch on the same circuit. So don’t worry about wiring a socket from a light switch. If it’s more convenient that wiring directly from the breaker box, go ahead and do it.

Thanks guys, I do think its the motor. Took it apart and the wiring is simple and I have tested there is power at the switch. Ordered a new motor this morning.

Our Bissell had a burning smell so my partner swiched it off but it hasnt worked since. Is this more likely to be the motor or electrics?

I have bought online a wall fixed cycle bracket that stores a cycle off the ground. The package came with this bolt and plug the like of which I have never seen before and have no idea how to use. Can anyone suggest? I have contacted the seller but they seem clueless.
