Thanks jg321 there is definitely a connector box in the ceiling, bit of a mess though - see attached. Would it be a case of removing one set of wires before connecting up the new light?

Hi All, One of my internal door lock mechanisms doesn't work so I took it apart and compared it against one that does. Turns out it is missing a spring inside (see photo attached, faulty lock on RHS). Does anyone know where I can get one of these from? Many thanks :)

Thanks all for your input - I don't feel too confident taking any boards up so I'll have a test in a corner and see how they come up. If the green paint is well and truly sunk in we could always paint them again. Well here goes!
